OSFL 2009 Draft Discussion

This draft is, by far, the worst we've had yet.

The thing about FOF, is you really don't know until the ratings come out.

But I do think this is the weakest of the three drafts.

Hopefully we finally have a QB to take us back to the title game. Price has done a great job for us, but he's not the one who is going to take us to the top.

Stringer was very underrated by my scout.

Pretty happy to get DT Benson at 3.1 considering I almost nabbed him at the end of Round 1.

With the 11th pick, the Washington Bombers select:


CB Rodney Westbrook


Analysis:

The fastest CB in this year's draft is headed to Washington. This was a need pick for the Bombers as they only have 3 CBs currently signed and only one good enough to start for a pro team. The Bombers are lucky to be in a division that has few teams that throw the ball and that will allow Westbrook to grow into a starter's role.

Analysis:

With the 12th pick, the Boston Fighting Irish select:

S Winfred Norris

Analysis:

IMO, There were 5 star players in the 2009 draft and Norris is the 5th and last one taken. At Safety, Norris ran a faster 40 than any cornerback or safety in this years draft. Norris was also the strongest safety and most agile players in the draft. Boston now has one of the best safety combos with Norris and JJ Fedolfi. Good trade by Boston's GM.

With the 13th pick, The Charlotte Cougars select:

DE Joseph Mallow

Analysis:

The Cougars are in a division with three of the best QB's in the league and with an average offense. So Charlotte did the smart thing and drafted to bulk up its defense. Mallow's combine numbers are great and he has the size and potential to be a great DE. His only problems are he has a bit of an attitude problem and is extremely raw.

Great thing I'm seeing with only 8 teams without their utility loaded. Most of them are guaranteed to be on within minutes. I'm loving the draft this year. Great job guys...

Loved Ellis. Was really hoping he would fall for a Marlon Madison insurance policy (actually, he probably will be much better) but knew it wouldn't happen. Nice pick.
