This is the guy Chicago was hoping would drop to number 3 and he did. The city of Chicago loves their middle linebackers and they will love Durham. Durham was the fastest, smartest, strongest and most agile ILB in the draft. The only knock on Durham is his age (turned 23) but thats nothing when you look at the things he brings to the table. Chicago still has to address the running game you cant pass on a cant miss linebacker like Durham.
Yea, I was hoping Chicago would draft a RB and Durham would drop. I was going to move him to OLB. Either way, I'm happy with Joel. Columbus, you're up.

I'm here, and on the clock. The 1(6) is up for trade. I will either trade or make my pick before noon. If you're interested in trading, either PM me, or contact me via IM.

The pick of Donald Boshier was as a future replacement and insurance for RB Horace Tatum, who we traded for earlier in the offseason.

Tatum is on the back end of his career, and we didn't feel like the DT talent in this years draft was a big enough upgrade to warrant a high DT selection, nor did we feel like we could wait until pick 1.26 to get a good one. We saw the chance to trade up for a truly elite player who our scout likes a lot, and we think we got an offensive game changer who will take an already good team to another level.

All in all, we felt we would get better value out of this draft by trading up for a guy with this kind of talent rather than wasting a pick on a borderline stud we weren't sure about.

Interesting draft so far, really cool. Of course it's my first draft so who knows, maybe this is normal. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm going to be running back and forth a lot today before work at 6 (moving) so if my pick comes up (13) and I'm not around, give me about 15-20 minutes, I'll have my laptop with me. Good luck guys.

It's Dean, but I'm sure he won't hold that against you when it comes time to negotiate ;)

With the 5th pick in the 2009 OSFL Draft, the North Liberty Enforcers select:

                WLB Joel Wild

                Analysis:

This was a need pick and thats not a criticism. The Enforcers biggest need was OLB and the best OLB in the draft is Joel Wild. Wild was a four year player with the Air Force Academy and is equally adept at covering receivers as he is rushing the passer. He will be a great LB tandem with MLB Zach Mcdonald.

I like that reasoning. Makes sense to me.

Sky -- just wondering who you were looking for when you moved up to 1.06 ?

You are correct. Even though I lost Lorenzo this year and had a chance to replace/upgrade him with that Georgia kid, I've got good(not great but definitely decent) YOUNG talent at both tackles. OLB....uhhh not so much. Ya'll were killing me on 3rd and long across the middle last year and I hope Joel will stop some of that. Its one of those things where time will tell a good/bad deal. Plus there is some decent talent that should fall in the early 2nd. I'm cool with my pick. Plus, I think Jistic and I took Skydog's picks...lol.

Right. Animal rights activists everywhere are protesting this draft already.

Oh, I thought you knew.. Donald is the name he goes by, his homies all call him that.

What? You're not one of his homies?

Oh, no wonder. My bad, dude.

Looking at my interviews and I'm wondering, did anyone else look back and say, "Why in the hell, did I interview that guy?" Its some guys on here that I have no idea why I interviewed them. I guess that's why I've had to 2 top 10 picks in 3 years.
