"He was the top guy on our board, so we were thrilled to be able to move up to grab him. He's the type of player who can anchor an offensive line for years to come. With Deon [Aviles] moving on, we believe Eric can help fill that hole."

Damn, I knew I should have put Durham as Chicago's primary rather than alternate pick.

Durham... according to combine numbers he's going to be an absolute beast.

Agreed. Should be a HOF type player with those combine numbers.

We had to. Absolutely had to. We traded up to get him. We are in desperate need of a MLB for an otherwise very talented and very young defense. Yeah we need RB, but I couldn't let this guy go. We'll deal with RB another way.

I can almost hear Mel Kiper in my head, "A rare physical specimen with the Solecismic score of an Ivy League punter."

Ok my 1.5 pick may be in a second. Give me about an hour if Pux hasn't picked yet.

With the 2nd Pick, the Ohio Valley Showboats select:

                    RT Eric Poliska

                    Analysis:

Poliska is an absolute monster and this was brilliant move by Ohio Valley. Losing Deon Aviles left a big hole on the right side of the Showboats line. Poliska should fill that hole brilliantly. Ohio Valley's owner blew up his team after a losing second half of the season but he's done a great job this offseason rebuilding this team through small FA pickups and the drafting Poliska. Poliska had the fastest 40 time of every lineman and is a very intelligent and likeable player. He should fit in well in the Showboats locker room.

Yuma is now on the clock. They just traded for Punx's pick.

I like the move to trade up and get Poliska.

I also like the pick of Durham, dude had absolutely sick numbers.

Wow. For a draft that only had 2 "sure fire" players, there sure is a lot of movement at the top. That makes picks 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 having traded hands.

I would not have made my 1.04 trade if Durham was still there ..... oh well

With the 3rd Pick, The Chicago Reapers select:

                              MLB Julio Durham

                              Analysis:

This is the guy Chicago was hoping would drop to number 3 and he did. The city of Chicago loves their middle linebackers and they will love Durham. Durham was the fastest, smartest, strongest and most agile ILB in the draft. The only knock on Durham is his age (turned 23) but thats nothing when you look at the things he brings to the table. Chicago still has to address the running game you cant pass on a cant miss linebacker like Durham.

With the 4th pick in the 2009 OSFL draft, the Yuma Aces select:

                                RB Dean Boshier

                                Analysis:

I have to say I'm a little surprised at this pick. Yuma had a great running game last year. The Aces' top 2 RBs (Stuart and Tatum) combined for almost 2000 rushing yards last year. Boshier gives them a 3rd running back but he is a different style of RB. Boshier is a bruiser at 6-2, 237 and likes contact while the Yuma's other backs are finesse backs. Yuma could have used help on the defensive side specifically at Tackle but Boshier will be a fine pick as long as he gets carries in that crowded backfield.
