It was actually pretty fun putting this together (it's strange how many things I consider fun involve entering data into spreadsheets). And now that I have a chance to look over my scout impressions for most of these guys, wow, I was off on a lot of 'em. That is, if I trust my scout.
But really this was more an exercise in just getting to know the other teams in the league. The character of those teams, as well as some of the characters on those teams. To take a look at the stats, the rosters, look and how they've done over the last few years. Try and figure out how bad I'm gonna get my butt kicked in 2009.
I don't pick until 20 but figured I'd let you guys know I'm going to the gym for about an hour - hour and a half and will make my pick when I get back, if we're even there yet.
Turned it off for a second looks like I got some last minute inquiries for the 2nd pick. I have to pick up my wife in a second but I'll be back momentarily to look over the offers and make a decision.
With the first pick of the 2009 OSFL draft, the Dakota Totems select:
QB Roy Parrish
North Liberty is now on the clock
Analysis:
Parrish was a no brainer pick for the Totems. After last year's disasterous season, Dakota needed a big name to bring in crowds and to give this team hope for the future. Parrish brings that to Dakota. He had perhaps the greatest combine performance in league history after a great career in Florida. The only knock on Parrish is his height (only 6 feet) but his athletic ability makes that a non factor. The Totems now have a franchise QB for the next 10 yrs.
