  • Stud QBs Worth

So for the experienced players in FOF what your you give up for an absolute stud QB that is in the draft. I am at number 6. Would 3 1st's be too much considering My team stinks?

That could cripple my growth for a few seasons and may not be worth the picks.

I probably wouldn't do that. If you're picking #6 you have a lot of holes on your team. Giving up 3 firsts is going to make it pretty difficult to build a team around him. It might be the right move, but I think people are lured by the prospect of a talented QB and end up making their team worse by paying the price to acquire one.

If he's a franchise QB 100% they worth it. I gave up 3 1st and 2 2nds for the best QB on the game in his only 4th year. They last between 15-18 seasons. A big window to go for it. Also if you suck you will prpbably have loads of cap space to waste wisely in FA.

I would say #6 and 2 more 1st are worth it if you are 100% sure and is young

If your team composition really sucks then losing all those picks is gonna hurt big time. You'll need to do trades to move down and pick up quantity over quality just to make sure you're gonna field an even half decent team.

Problem is, the first few seasons of a QB's life is gonna generally be his worst, so you're further handing the team you traded with a lot of high 1st round picks. Any of those picks could've been used on possibly good or great QBs.

That said, you can also spend outrageously in free agency while the stud QB is on his rookie deal.

I hew more towards not giving those picks away, but there is value in doing what Shark did.

Honestly, context is important here. Without seeing your roster we're all spitballing.

You wanna have the other pieces in place before you go all out to get a QB. Try to get by with some stop gap QBs while you build your roster, then when the time is right, make the big play for a high pick and get your guy that way. Or better yet, trade for an already known quantity. Hell, you might get lucky and land a starting QB in a later round.
