That was a very close defensive battle. This game could have easily gone either way. Both teams had very similar or even identical stats in key areas (1st downs, Net Yards, Interceptions, Fumbles Lost, Avg YTG on 3rd down, Penalty Yards). The only advantage that we really had was on our 3rd down conversion %.
I think that we were very lucky that you ran out of clock at the end of the first half when you had the ball on our 4 yard line. The way that you were moving the ball that drive, You would have scored a TD (instead of a FG) if you had time for one or two more plays.
With 3 of 4 teams making the playoffs and with this very close game, we can say that the AC South is now the strongest division in our conference.
GG, Rob. I knew we were in trouble when our first two drives ended because we couldn't convert on 3rd & 1. I also knew that we'd have to have another big day from Conner Cannida, and he didn't really show up. Can't complain too much, as we wouldn't have gotten this far without riding on his back.
I'd say good luck in the bowl, but between you and Aston I don't know which dynasty to root against more.
I'd have to agree with your assessment of our division. With New Orleans coming alive this is a fun division to be a part of. I'm hopeful that one of us will be able to overthrow our evil Waco overlords next year.
