Things didn't look too good for the majority of this game. Luckily, Cannida was not going to be denied on his first trip to the playoffs where he wasn't sidelined with injury. He came up huge with 3 INTs, running one back for a TD.
It was a microcosm of our season for Dakota. We played pretty well at times and blew it with turnovers. We were up 19-0 at one point but Gainesville put together a great comeback and won the game. It looked like we were setting ourselves up for a game winning field goal but we done fumbled it and Gainesville went downfield and kicked their own!

Good luck the rest of the way, Gainesville!
GG Foos,
This was a weird game game, during the first half, i was already ready to come up here and write "wow that was so bad" and leave the game there. But then, things changed around, 2nd half was ours, the crowd lifted up the guys. We slowly came to believe in it, thinking, too little too late at some point. And then leading up to an historic come back. Couples of breaks late in the game as our defense came up big. But we need to start the game with out opponent from now on, not on the second half.
On a darker note, Star Receiver Joyner seems to be out for the rest of the playoff
Graaagh!! Who's next in line for this juggernaut!?!?!
We managed to squeeze by Bunting (Who is looking like a nightmare to deal with for the next 12-15 seasons) and our defense held serve real well against that beast offense.. Ashton West closed it out for us in OT by taking over on that drive and finishing the upset.
GG Brooklyn, We were fortunate your coaches were so reliant on Bunting, I think it helped us late in the game when we seemingly caught on to the passing game. The turnovers were huge.
Here we come, Boston. I hope you got some nice panties picked out to wear for us. We're gonna pahk ah cah in hahvad yahd.
GG, Dutch (or CPU) since I haven't seen him post in a while.
Spoiler
Anyway, this team was knee deep in feces early in the game going down 17-0 in the first half. New Orleans looked unstoppable as the Stingrays scored on their first three drives that all began in the first quarter.
Our defense stepped it up in the second quarter not allowing another score for the remainder of the half. Early on, the offense looked lost with career backup, Julio Flannery, under center. 3rd year Dakota Middleton dropped 3 passes and the moment just looked too big for us.
61 year old head coach, Gerald Benson was having none of that at halftime though. Known to be brutally honest, Benson was quoted as saying, "I'll be honest, I'd rather take a dump, eat that then take another dump and eat that s*** again, than coach a bunch of whiney, poor executing, b****es like how you guys are playing right now." A couple of the rookies chuckled but the vets remained silent, knowing that a Benson profanity laced tirade meant some guys would be told to clean out their lockers at the end of the season.
In the second half, the Bombers looked like a different team flying all over the field, on both offense and defense. One of the rookies that didn't laugh was former Colorado State star receiver, Leonard Kramer who returned his first and most significant TD with a 99 yard return that cut the lead to just 8 with just over a quarter to go.
Then in the final frame, the Bombers scored 11 more (2 point conversion) including Will Damm's 28 yard field goal to send Bomber fans home elated. Unfortunately for them though, reality will hit them in the morning when they remember that they have to travel to Texas for a rematch of last year's league championship that saw the Bombers get thumped by the Warhawks, 38-3.
It probably wasn't the prettiest locker room to be in with Benson then and not likely to be the best place to be after this upcoming game either.

Extremely disappointing way to end the year. Relying on a rookie QB passing 45 times is not a way to win in the playoff. Good luck the rest of the way juilo.
GG Waco. Our special teams kept us in it for a second but Granberry's injury was too much to handle.
We got a big decision coming up as this team is coming to the end of the line as constructed. We will likely be selling off key pieces this off season.
GG Scortch! We got down early and became a passing team. 8 turnovers in the game and 4 fumbles. How was the game even close?
Anyhow, this wasn't supposed to be our season so the pill is not too bitter. I have enough picks and the team is young enough to take a few more shots.
Thanks, chuck. I honestly didn't want to post until I saw that you did. I'm excited to get another shot at Waco, but we really didn't deserve this one. You outplayed us in every aspect except for the turnovers. I'm not looking forward to what your team is going to be in the future. Great season, sorry it ended that way.
Conner Cannida is just a fool out on the field. He lead the league in INTs again this year, and has 5 so far in these playoffs! On top of that he's run 2 of those 5 back for TDs. The guy is all over the field.
Good luck on Wednesday, Rob. Waco has been looming over us for the last 5 years. We handled them earlier in the year, but this is a different team than the one we faced in Week 10. When we faced off for the division crown in Week 17 we got embarrassed. I'm hoping that we get some lucky breaks and prevent the Rascally Canadian from making his fifth straight bowl appearance. I'm not confident, but I'm hopeful.

It is a shame that Granberry was injured. If he could have played I am sure that it would have been a much closer game.
Is the injury setting still the same? It seems like there have been a rash of injuries to star players this year. Maybe we should look at lowering the setting for future seasons.
I know that if either St. Paul or Waco make the bowl game that they will have a very thin roster due to all the injuries.
Good luck in the Conference Championship game Scortch!
Sorry we had to lay the smack down on you so hard, Aston. I knew coming in you guys had a ton of weaknesses, so we decided to exploit just a couple so we didn't make you look too bad. Like that weakness your team has for sacking the opposing QB? I knew we could exploit that at will. Did that. And you know that habit your team has of converting on 3rd and long? Totally fooled you into converting a ton of your third and long situations. In the end, the whole story was told on the scoreboard. Can't say I'm disappointed, we killed it.
I can't believe how easily your game plan played right into our scheme, but man we're just that good.
Screw the injuries this season...so ridiculous...as now our star QB is out with a concussion.
You can go ahead and Rex us against Boston...I could care less about trying to find another QB and dealing with another injury.
GG Matt,
We just werent there this game, maybe its Joyner's injury's fault but i feel we got outclassed.
Sorry about your QB loss, i feel like if it happenned earlier in the game we would have stood a chance, now it just feels bad heading into conference champ without a QB.
