It's unusual for a 14-2 team to trade up for the 1.1 pick but we been building up assets for this moment. Our goal this offseason was to acquire a franchise QB with our various assets. After having experiences in other leagues competing with Aston (and the fact that BOS is the champ with a very young franchise QB), we felt it was absolutely necessary to have a stud franchise QB in order compete with BOS long term. This move is painful in the short term but stabilizes our franchise in the long term and provide a clear path forward for the next decade plus.

Irish, what do you think of this move for BKL?

For a moment I considered throwing a wild ass offer out there. This is a good deal both ways though, lots of compensation, but probably worth it for a guy who seems likely to be a big star at the biggest position.

Looks like Brooklyn are making a run at it the next couple of seasons. The NC East looks brutal. You can even afford to have QB Bunting sit a year behind Jarrod Gaddy, bomber.

After the fiasco I had in the RZB listening to my scouts, I'm never trusting those bastards again. I get too few interviews for the ones I do have to come out wrong. Missed on two picks in the first 3 rounds and really set my team back. I may just stop interviewing players given my recent experiences with drafting busts that my scouts thought were VU.

I hate it, hahaha.

I wanted that QB. I thought I had better value in my trade, with the 1.10 and 1.14 picks, plus my 1st next year and some other assets. But Anchorage decided 4 1st was better than 3, so he took your deal.

Anyway, I'm of the exact same mindset. Gotta get that franchise QB to build around. I keep trading for old QBs, but I'd like to get a young franchise guy to be able to build around. My goal is to rebuild my offense, since I had a lot of aging players, but I'll have to build up other areas and hope we can make a move in the coming seasons for a young franchise QB.

I just talked to Alex thru Steam, he has resigned due to school and not having enough time.

Ah, OK. We haven't started slow roll -- that's the 14-hour clock and that starts Wed, and runs until Monday. I would have given Alex until then, as Wed to Monday is plenty of time to get headway into Round 1.

However, I think we'll wait at least until the 1.1 is sorted out. The pick has been made in a trade that currently can't be approved.
