If you are on steam, there is an option to verify file integrity. If that fails, im also out of ideas. Hopefully you can start playing with us before season end, your team managed to get in a playoff race without you

      thanks guys

Im going to spend the night pounding my head on the keyboard until it works lol... i'll be back on as soon as possible for my team.. thanks for the patience without me..

With the install im going to follow your advice, ill uninstall from everywhere and then go back through the file path to make sure nothing is there

sounds like a solid answer maybe

In Windows 10, you have to uninstall the game to get all the files off, but more importantly, get the registry cleaned out. Until you do a proper uninstall, Windows 10 will still see FOF as being installed, even if all the files aren't there, etc. etc.

Uninstall, then delete any files left laying around. Then restart the computer, so all registry entries are cleared, and go ahead and reinstall. At that point, you SHOULD be able to start up a new SP game. And, to play MP, you'll have to go through the individual league's setup routine to set up for playing in that league.

If none of this works, your best bet is to contact support for the game. They have more indepth knowledge than we all do, and should be able to help you where we seemingly cannot if the advice given by a multitude of players trying to be helpful doesn't work.

It feels like we're talking past each other here, chris. There should be zero files in any of these folders:

          export
          import
          leaguedata
          leaguehtml
          leagues
          universe

          until you start a game.

You should be able to start a Single Player game without any custom player files as long as you select "Yes, use random alternate players". You can advance to the draft without importing a custom file of rookies. So *don't* click those buttons, and FOF will generate everything for you.

SP is different from MP, just to be clear. I don't know what you mean by "I have downloaded an MP roster file" and it's not apparent exactly what exactly you are having difficulty with.

yes that was confusing Aston... there was a time when the game would shut down anytime i tried to start any game... a player suggested i download his MP folder, and then i was able to view his MP players etc. but when i backed out and tried to start SP it wouldn't generate players for the draft.. that's was the whole MP issue which isn't exactly what the problem is but he was trying to help... I think the next step is what IrishGuy65 recommended for making sure all the little files are completely gone and recycled before doing a reinstall..

A problem i might be having with this issue is when you download from steam you have to accept that user agreement, but it says it can't load that content when i try to install, we were thinking because i already agreed once... I'm wondering if this is what the install is recongizing is already there??? just a thought...

You're always referring to a draft, have you even tried to start a game without a draft?

If it works, then you do have that player file you keep mentioning you don't have. Meaning the problem is elsewhere.

If it worked it might have just created said file, from there you could retry doing your start with preference draft or complete draft

                problems solved

The problem was solved, last night... under other advise what i had to do was uninstall the game from steam, but then follow the file path for the game under file manager.... sure enough there were files that weren't uninstalled by steam... after deleting every trace of the game under file manager i recycled my bin , restarted my computer and reinstalled., and everything was fine.....

Answer... if you bought from steam and are needed to reinstall for any reason you have to do it from steam and then any traces out of the file manager.... restart and reinstall if this ever come up for anyone else.... now i actually have no idea how the problem started because it just happened in the middle of playing.

Thanks for all your help and the rest of the people on this forum. Over prior experiences with problem solving for this game it was a relatively shorter process and i appreciate that.

                Chris

To add to this,... this problem has never existed for any of the other dozen games or so that have also been uninstalled and reinstalled before on my Steam account..

what i meant was when i sim'd all the way to the players draft for that year... it just skipped that part entirely and went to the next season,.. not begin the game with a player draft... sry if that was confusing. but the problem has been solved.

Great, just in time to put on your Columbus export, have you been able to setup the OSFL in your FOF?
