  • Week 14 - Put up or shut up

Still hunting for that first playoff spot as Gm of this legendary Utah team.

Squeezed out a win vs Anchorage, subsequently got fined for over the top smacktalk on the message boards, fighting injuries to important starters and forcing our QB Scott Syron to stop throwing interceptions using the Ludovico Technique of aversion therapy (kudos if you know the reference).

Need to make a good game plan to beat this worthy opponent, the Gainesville Gaels. Took them down in the preseason by a TD, but was that the same team I face this week? Only by the magic finger and clickity clicking mouse of our Commissioner Aston will I learn my fate and destiny.

    Good Luck Gaels, bring it!

Makes two of us still searching out first playoff spot as GM we in our 4th year with me GMing. This week we will be facing a dangerous Ohio River team, the Sharks are having a down year with the distraction of a new GM being hired. Rumor has it their old GM left due to health reasons.

Also love the fine & magic finger commits found those quite entertaining.

    { PS I do hope in real life Shark did not have health issues. }

11-1 Brooklyn on the road, looks like our win streak will come to an end.

        GL Engelbert,

This will sure be an important match up, our division is so close that it starts to look like must win games. We do have one of the best D or the league, but our offense fails to gets inspire by them.

South Maryland at home. Should be a tough one but you never know. We have already lost to Brooklyn and Boston in that division with the Maulers and Camden to come.

Will be a good game Delandis.. Two of the best teams in OSFL playing. A measure stick game. Let see how we both do.

              GG Gaels

We both obviously played a strong zone pass defence focusing on each others best receivers, but somehow I came out with better field positioning to begin my drives in this one. Syron didn't throw any interceptions but as G said, he has one of the best Ds in the league. The biggest surprise for me in this game was my teams ability to run the ball. This Gainesville team this season does NOT let the opposition's running game work. So why did it work for me? I'm not sure.

Really puzzled by this result but Ill take it. Keep it up Gainesville and you'll get that division lead back to yourself.

              Good game.

Ended our little winning streak and took a blasting.

Now that we are officially out of the playoffs I'm going to give Burt O'Neill some experience at QB.

Well played Irish. A good old fashioned beatdown. And to think I honestly thought we had a chance of the playoffs...

                      GG Engelbert,

Tough lost, im also puzzled. We are lucky in the fact that our direct opponent also dropped games. Its been 3 weeks in a row that we fail to runaway with the division, this could come to haunt us as 2 of our last 3 are against division opponents.

                      For the record :

                      W1 Bullock ( 5th ranked RB, 1145 yds) limited to 95 yards
W2 Smickwick (3rd ranked RB, 1167 yds) limited to 27 yards, 1,5 per carries
                      W3 Conley ( 8th ranked RB, 971 yds) limited to 57 yards
                      W7 Grim ( 7th ranked RB, 1090 yds) limited to 79 yards
                      W8 Bullock ( 5th ranked RB, 1145 yds) limited to 64yards

Top 10 RB faced this season

                      But...

Watson (16th ranked RB, 746 yds) allowed 132 yards

This really killed our game, and the game killed our secondary with important injuries that could make us struggle in our Playoff race.

Now we need to win our division, as the wildcard spot seems unlikely

Haha, oh man. Our QB is having a hell of a year. I think it takes a certain amount of seasoning, but it's coming together for him now -- this being year 4, I think. He went 15/18 today. Very crisp, although this was a grind-it-out game.

                          gg alex!

Look out Lake County, we have some life in us still. Ed Berube had another impressive week on the ground. He's given us a spark these last two weeks and I think that's opened up the passing game for Gallagher.

                              GG rush.

Sorry to ruin your playoff hopes. Frankly, I keep gameplanning to win and hoping I'll lose, now that I'm basically out of the playoffs. Every win takes me further and further from a good pick in the draft :(

I think the problem for you specifically in this game is that you are a run first team, and we are good at stopping the run (and terrible against the pass, except for interceptions). You run the ball a lot, we stop the run, bad day for you.

One thing I'm still trying to figure out is why the hell my FB got most of the carries in this game? Singleton should be over 100 yards at this point, and instead Reado got 19 carries or something. This has happened before, but my offensive gameplan doesn't change that drastically, and I always have my FB running % at 0, so somehow he's coming in to play RB, and I don't like it.
