FOF 7.2 Update

As a reminder, FOF 7.2 has been released. Grab the update here: http://www.solecismic.com/downloads/index.php (for the Steam version, I assume it will update automatically if your Steam client is connected online).

We'll be simming on the new version starting now, with the Midweek 1 sim tomorrow being the first one on the new version.

It should be OK if you export from the old version, but there might be little differences in contracts -- I'm not sure. This is just a notice that I've updated as of this time.

I am on steam it seems like everything is fine too me though I don't see any differences in the game itself.

When it was almost done, it was a couple of errors n@ 20367 or something like that.

Is our error threshold below 50?

Our combine error threshold is 50, the previous default. This is an interesting change and it won't affect us until the next draft class is generated, which is great -- as that won't be for a while. Time enough for discussion as well as to gather a community consensus.

For those who haven't seen the news, it used to be a simple 0-100 sliding scale. Now, "under 50" activates different behaviors, and "under 40" activates different behaviors still.

Otherwise it's a minor version update, so the game shouldn't "look" very different -- the only other thing I saw was the XPs being moved to the 25-yard line -- but the draft (may) be working very differently in the future.

The only thing I will add is that the patch was intended to resolve an issue of a draftee "tell"...that some people use to their advantage and others don't.

Moving below 40 will resolve the "tell" completely...everything above 39 will still have some sort of "combine cliff" of doom for your draftees which is great if you know how to filter them out and bad if you don't.

Yeah, I'm inclined to go to 39 if everyone's cool with that. But I do want to see what other leagues do and if there are any recommendations from them. 39 seems like such an arbitrary number. I wish Jim would've just decided on a behavior he wanted, and made the change across the board. I mean, especially for those of us in multiple leagues, let's be playing the same game here.

Me too, Shark. So I just downloaded from here: http://www.solecismic.com/downloads/index.php

And installed it over the previous installation. If you give Jim the error codes and when they are happening he might be able to help you. For me, it was no issue. You can try downloading the install file again; perhaps your download was interrupted the first time?

Installed it...got 3 AVG virus errors.
