What a battle!!! One of the most intense and most frustrating games i have experienced in FOF. The bitterness! The bitterness!

That ending was insane. Which means it was just sorta typical for us this season. We're currently 8-0 but we really should be more like 3-5.

Just over 2 minutes left, Brooklyn gets the ball at our 26 yard line. We actually manage to back them up to the 34, but they still kick the long FG and tie the game 10-10.

11 seconds left, we have the ball inside our own 20 but rather than just run the clock out and go for overtime coach decides to toss it up and go for the win and what do you know, INTERCEPTION! Our fullback makes the game saving tackle as time expires.

First possession of overtime we get the ball first but manage to do jack all with it and then, BLOCKED PUNT! Brooklyn gets the ball at our 30 yard line. That's basically ballgame, right? They already kicked a longer FG than this to get into OT. There's no way we are getting out of this with a win.

They run the ball to pick up a few more yards, and by a few I mean 11. Easy FG range now, right? Well, maybe better get a few more yards to make it even easier.

They run the ball again, 6 more yards (yeah, there are times when my "only defend the pass" defense is a distinct disadvantage, this is one of them) 30 yard kick? Do it and head to the locker room to celebrate your victory, right?

Newp, PENALTY! Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Back up the Hitmen 15 yards and make them start over. Doesn't matter though, they are still inside FG range and have 2 downs to try and get a few more yards back (and it seems like they aren't having any problem getting those yards) and then it'll be kick the easy FG for the win, right?

Newp, FUMBLE! We get the ball back, proceed to jack all with it again, and punt it away once more.

At least this time the punt is clean and Brooklyn has to start back from their own 18. But our offensive ineptitude and poor special teams play since the start of the 4th quarter means that even if they don't score this drive, they can turn this into a battle of field position and probably get back into FG range eventually. Just as long as they don't... INTERCEPTION! Timmy Connell gets to play the hero for the second time this season. Just plain crazy.

The Phoenix Riders dominate the clock and the Portland Phantoms to win 20-14.

I am happy we stayed in the game until the last minute but still gave up too many big plays when it mattered.
