All,
Just to let everyone know, the OSFL will be taking a little break once this regular season ends tomorrow night. On one hand, I've been too busy at work these past few weeks to coordinate our offseason plans and I'll need a little time to do that. Secondly, we have at least two owner vacancies to fill and I'll need some time to fill those. As usual, if anyone knows of anyone who wants to get involved, let me know. I'm not posting the teams right now because I don't want them to be called out, but right now there are at least two, both of whom won at least 6 games last year and one of whom is actually very good.
Thirdly, cam is on vacation until 9/5 and I'd like to give him a chance to manage his own offseason without Diesel, his appointed fill-in, screwing it up for him as badly as he's screwed up his own team. Fourthly....I've been running up against some serious time issues as far as devotion to this league goes lately. Some of you have probably noticed the relatively bare-bones nature of my posts lately and honestly, I have time to run sims these days and not a lot else due to a heavy workload and a life outside of work. So I'm extending the invitation to anyone interested who thinks they could put more into the league than I currently do - I will give you whatever you need if you want to take over the league from a commissioner's standpoint. I don't want to feel like I'm shortchanging people on content around here, but at the same time I personally am not in a position to devote a lot of my time to the league these days.
I'm happy to continue running sims, posting results, keeping everyone on schedule, conducting the offseason and all that jazz, but I've seen what some other leagues do as far as content and bells and whistles and it makes our little OSFL look rather spartan by comparison. Which may be fine with everyone. But if it's not, or if anyone wants to shoulder the added responsibility of running the league and providing more in the way of content, let me know. This could include some kind of co-commish role instead of a complete transfer or power, so let me know if anyone's interested in that as well. Due to the lack of interest in things like writing articles, choosing awards, betting on league games, etc, I've measured the activity levels of most of you to be pretty low. But if more is desired, I'm gonna need some help in the way of running things, as well as the amount of content that you all submit on your own.
Anyway. Not sure how long the hiatus is, but it'll be at least through the coming week as I track down some new owners and get the offseason plans squared away. Apologies for the delay as I know those who didn't make the playoffs are anxious to crank up another offseason, but hopefully everyone is understanding.
Also, if you are planning to leave, please let me know. So far I've heard from two people and I appreciate their courtesy in giving me the notice prior to the start of the offseason, so hopefully others will do the same if they plan on leaving.
