Position move advice

So from the draft, I was thinking of moving a couple of players:

DT Bethel. Shows 51/79 as a DT. I had him underrated. Move to DE. Comes out 45/76. Says his ratings could increase.

OLB Will Mott. Shows 22/57. I can move to FS with little to no change. Comes out 11/54. Nice zone and bump bar.

In my experience, changing players positions can be a bit of a crap shoot. They may show good ratings now, but after training camp and ex2, they can drop significantly.

I am trying to avoid changing positions for any players unless it is absolutely neccessary.

I would try and find a way to get that DT to work as more of a pass rusher than someone who clogs up the middle. Haven't got any advice on how you would gameplan this though. Have always struggled to get a DT to get double figures in sacks but I mostly play a 3-4 scheme.

I am sure the guys with more expertise may have a different opinion though.

I believe your drops after EX 2 are drops that were going to happen no matter what - they were just masked. I have done the DT-DE move often without any issue, especially when it says he will gain in ratings.

No my question was more if the DT-DE move was wise from a roster strength point of view. In the new version, is it better to have a stud DT or a stud DE?

A stud is a stud right? Have him gain some weight and put that man in his natural position to scare a QB. With Wiggins, Harper, Bethel (in the middle) it doesn't really matter who you put on the other side of the line, you are going to reek havoc on opposing lines.

What you won't see as a MP participant is the % ratings loss. When a scout tells you a guy will only keep 80% of his ratings, you won't see that "about 80%" applied until after the next sim comes back, so beware. Usually I'm happy if they keep 95% or above, although of course I'd prefer not to lose any ratings unless the position switch was necessary.

Aston is talking about guys who say they will lose rating when you move them. That isn't the case for these two guys.

And like he said, you get the results AT THE NEXT SIM. It is not a TC thing, TC changes are unmasking and vol I believe.

You can't trust the bars it shows you in a mp environment regardless if the player gains or loses ratings.

DT to DE and gaining ratings? Do it. DE will always get more pass rush chances, statistically

LB to S? That's a bit tougher but if the game says his ratings will stay the same then I don't see any harm. Though he is losing a lot of experience which means the move will basically red shirt him this season.

If the LB->S guy is the right weight, it could work. I had a guy in NAFL who was moved the same way and went on to be a HOF safety. If the game says no change or it could increase his rating, I say do it.

I was wondering about the WR I drafted... I looked at his experience bar and although I drafted him as a SE he has more experience at FL. Moving him to FL is a good move right? ..

You won't get much difference in rating between a FL and an SE, if at all I believe

The game SHOULD tell you little to no change on a FL to SE or SE to FL move. He will gain the experience if it shows he has more at the new position. But... it probably won't be much.

I say if you want him at FL, move him. Otherwise don't.

Wow, LB to FS, huh? Interesting move. I guess I'd be most interested in seeing how all his cover bars are, including INT.

It'll come down to team needs mostly. DE can maybe make more impact but I think a stud DT is pretty important, too (and will be slightly cheaper on their next contract).

If the weights are okay, the position switch should not be a big deal.

It's very hard to get a double digit sacks from a DT in a 3-4 Scheme as they play >50% of the time in base coverage collapsing the hole to stuff the runs. LE + WLB will give you that double digits in Sacks though if your NT and RE are good as a pass rush (strenght)... Team work buddy :)
