I haven't spent this much time thinking about gameplanning for a game in a long time, which is probably a bad sign. I will get me export in when I get home from work. Hopefully not OT tonight.

WOW!
Somehow we made it back to the Tobacco Bowl after a number of disastrous injuries including our #1 Quarterback, #1 Running Back, and #2 and #3 Linebackers. We got into the playoffs for an AFC wildcard spot with a 9-7 record (which would not have made it in the uber-tough NC).
It has taken consecutive 3 point victories over Los Alamos and Ohio River to get to this point. Now in order to successfully defend our OSFL title we have to face this man:
Basically, the greatest Running Back in Front Office Football history.
Oh and yeah we also have to deal with a team that is pretty much injury-free.
In case anyone else hasn't noticed, Rando has built Camden into a cohesion monster:
Congrats on the incredible season going 14-2 in the hardest division in the OSFL and steamrolling though the post-season.
Hopefully my endless thoughts of developing gameplans to stop Shea will give us a chance or at least keep the score respectable.
Good luck Rando!

SpoilerYour defense shut down my top to receivers and held them to only 69 combined yards. On the other side of the ball, your offensive gameplan was also a surprise as you passed much more than I thought you would in the first half. Congrats on the championship and on the outstanding season as a whole. You deserve the championship.

Good game Rob
We got lucky with the match up on our first touchdown, a deep pass vs. 1 deep coverage for the score, and then again with a big gain against 1 deep on 4th down to keep our second drive alive. Honestly I was surprised when the coach called a pass there. We go for it on 4th down so rarely I cannot even remember what I have the game plan set for. Our luck continued with a fumbled punt return by Waco (Wes Scott's 2nd forced fumble on coverage these playoffs to go with 2 during the regular season) set up our third TD.
I was surprised how well our defense was held up. Waco came out strong on their first drive, but then petered out at our 8 yard line and they had to settle for a FG. They had another promising drive end in a blocked FG near the end of the 2nd half. I was also pleasantly surprised with how early the "familiar" messages started rolling in.
In a roundabout way our defense was also aided by my inactivity on these boards. Earlier this season I missed a chance to send our backup RB Kirschgessner to a RB needy Waco just before the trade deadline. Rob instead ended up working out a deal with Ohio which later fell through and as an unintentional result of it all I was able to rework my defensive game plan around stopping the pass with little regard for the Warhawks running game outside of third and short. Although there were a few plays early on where Poor left me wondering about the wisdom of that plan.
And speaking of running backs, Curtis Shea continued the proud Camden tradition of ours failing to live up to the hype in Championship games.
2014 vs Memphis - Cedric Pint: 19 for 72 and 1 TD
2021 vs Anchorage - Burt Newman: 28 for 81 and 0 TD (1 TD reception)
2031 vs Utah - Tommy Jeffries: 14 for 80 and 0 TD
2038 vs Waco - Curtis Shea: 23 for 65 and 2 TD
Jeffries was the only one to manage even 4 YPC and he's the only one of the three not currently in or seemingly on his way to the Hall of Fame.
Oliver Balgaroo is also the first Camden QB to win a championship game MVP (since obviously our running backs weren't going to win them). Martin Cothran and Casey Baumgartner both got rings but were so thoroughly outplayed that the MVP nods went to the signal callers on the losing side instead. Not that it matters that Balgaroo won one, I still say he's still overrated. (no big contract for you mr. holdout!)
It was a hell of a ride guys, thank you.
