Week 16 Discussion

With playoff chances riding on winning the division, and considering I am on the losing end of any tie breakers, I'd say our chances are slim to none to get in, unless Forgantown has an absolute meltdown in their final 2 games, AND Gainesville loses this week, and I can somehow find a way to beat them next week. That is our only hope.

The Portland Phantoms welcome 7-7 Columbus Catfish this week in the penultimate game of the season. The Phantoms currently sit at 6-8 and with two home games left, are hoping to finish the season at a respectable 8-8 after going 0-4 in the first quarter of the schedule.

Same here. With Brooklyn winning both of our season meetings, we need to stay ahead of them to claim a playoff spot. Unfortunately, in the NC, one very good team is not going to make the playoffs.

I went 11-5 once and didn't make the playoffs.

It might've been the same season bomber went 0-16.

Holy crap!!! Just like that. From the depths of despair to a possible bye in the playoffs. Back to back OT game wins. This one was a little more lucky. Dakota beat us up pretty good, but we were able to keep them out of the end zone, for the most part. Or at least, enough to allow us to stay close.

Today it was special teams that won it for us. A kickoff return to tie the game in the 4th and a punt return to win it in OT.

One more win and we secure a bye and get to rest and get healthy.

A very defensive game for both teams. Our defense played great except for Boston's 99-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. It looks like our defensive expectations (run/pass) were wrong on nearly every play that drive.

Hopefully our run game can improve. They were non-existent in this one.

With the division and 2nd playoff bye still up for grabs, Week 17 will be very exciting.

This game was close, with us winning 14-3. Some defensive adjustments seemed to help, as we ended up creating 3 turnovers. Our running game suuuuuuuucks, and it showed today. I was going to sit him for the last two games, but I was hoping to get him over 1000 yards. Anyway, your defense played great and kept you in it, but we were fortunate today to come away with a win.

Now we have Boston, who are looking to be spoilers against a division rival. Not sure if I should give Carmack a break or not, seeing as how he only needs 81 more yards to make 1000, and we'll have to play next week in the wildcard round IF we make the playoffs. If we had a bye, I'd definitely give him off.

As for the playoffs, Brooklyn has tiebreakers against us. Not sure where we stand against St Paul. I'd wish everyone good luck next week, but I'm not going to!
