  • Where to play your stud LB

Let's say you had a LB who was 100 rated in everything and the rest of the LBs at your disposal were crap. Where would you play him, everything else being equal?

For this argument let's assume that I will not use him at WLB.

MLB. Seems to have highest impact in number of plays, both tackles and pass coverage.

      That's where you'd want him.

        4-3 MLB
        3-4 SILB

They do see a TON of activity.

        but that's boring

        SLB all day long.

Blitz that guy alongside your WLB

It depends on the team you are playing and the defense you are using.

For example, a team that throws the ball a lot, and their leading receiver is a TE, I put him at SLB and don't blitz him. If a throwing team throws mostly to their receivers, but have a QB with a weak sense rush, I'm blitzing him... doesn't matter, IMO, where I put him in this case. He is 100% blitz. Against a run first team, I'd put him at MLB or SILB, which are the main run defending positions.

You would really forgo his amazing cover skills for the 100 blitz bar? In the old version I would often never blitz, especially when I had good cover LBs.

Same here. I never blitzed unless it was inside the 20s (or whatever the setting is). I'd usually generate sufficient pass rush anyway.
