I have never done a Renegotiation of a contract before and I am considering trading for a player. So I have a couple questions about it. The player in question is my stud LT, for the 41 season he is requesting 16.62 Mil with a cap hit of 19.56Mil. Is the 16.62 salary and difference the bonus? Cause prefer the cap hit be more close to 15Mil in that 4th year something like 10 Mil Salary & 5 Mill bonus. Too do this do I need to wait till end of season? He has Experience 4, and I don't want to take a chance of losing him to F/A. Had this been 8th or 9th year I would not mind possibly losing him to FA.

"Is the 16.62 salary and difference the bonus?"
Yes.
An 80+ rated LT is gonna cost you close to $20 mil. Good luck getting him to take $15 mil. ;)
Put more into bonus and you can get him closer to $15 mil.
If you can't come to terms with him this season you can Franchise Tag him so you won't lose him next offseason. He's only going to want more money the older he gets, so I'd recommend finding the sweet spot and signing him as long as you can right now.
Also, keep in mind LDE Bob Miller is gonna cost you $20 mil/yr soon.
