  • Week 17 Discussion

Some interesting things going on in Week 17:

Utah and Phoenix play each other for the division.

Hey! So do Portland and Washington.

Then in my division, we win and we're in. I sure hope Charlotte knocks off Nemesis, but I have a feeling that may not happen. We'll be playing Gainesville with our backup QB which makes for a bad day all around.

    Fun times in week 17!

Yeah, I think we hold the tiebreaker if we win and you lose.

Unless I'm doing my figuring wrong, if we beat New Orleans and Phoenix beats Utah we get the wild card. Portland and Washington play, so whoever wins that game takes the division and the loser is eliminated at 8-8. Punxsutawney beat us and Utah, so even if they lose they'll win the tie breaker as long as Phoenix wins. We win the tie breaker against Port City due to record against common opponents.

That would leave just us and Utah in a tie, which we'd win on account of our beating them in Week 5. If Phoenix loses and is in a tie with us, they'd win the wild card on account of them beating us in Week 8.

You better be. If we can't win this week, we don't deserve a playoff spot. Which after looking things over, I think we clinched anyway. If all the tiebreakers shake out, I think we would get in with the better conference record as well as head to head against Wash, Port and Mem.

If we win the division while leading the league in turnovers then I'll be...something.

We're now second in the league in creating turnovers, but a lot of those came in the past two games. 5 INT against Shark's backups is fun and all but doesn't quite tell the story of our season.

CRUSHED Gainesville. What a way to end the season. Win the division, but then face Brooklyn. F**k!

Good thing I have a bye. We played starters and got BOTH the QB1 and the QB2 knocked out for 2 weeks each. Ouch! That's what I get. Covington lasted just one play, but at least he wasn't hurt holding on a PAT...

GG, bomber! Three playoff entrants from the division this year.

Was looking at my PR defense. Ouch.. Welp, into the offseason with questions that need answered.

Happy with our 3-12-1 to 8-8 improvement.

                      See you bishes next season!

Happy to win and get in the playoffs. Not so happy to see the game was so close against backups. I'm hoping Morton got his interceptionitis out of his system. Four picks in the last two games is not how we want to go in to the postseason. I do like seeing that he tied for the league lead in TD passes.

I also have to believe that our rookie S Henry Helming has to be the front runner for defensive rookie of the year. 121 tackles. Seven interceptions, two sacks and a PD% over 80.

GG, Dutch. Well, in our biggest game of the season we laid an egg. Our 6 turnovers really prevented us from getting any momentum going. One of them was on a punt return that gave the ball to the opponents inside our 10 and another was an interception that was returned 95 yards for a touchdown, those two really hurt. Either way, it was a positive first year for the new regime. Our defense played better than expectations, even with Cannida missing half the season. Our focus this offseason is going to be finding a way to make some improvements to our offense. Good luck to the playoff teams.
