  • South Maryland is on auto (computer control)?

--- just noticed in the latest sim that a guy I released (Groves WR) was instantly signed (ie before humans could even know that he was released) by SMD

How the hell did that happen?

    SMD isn't on auto control....
    SIN CITY GAMBLERS since 1990
    NEW ORLEANS DUKES since 1993
    1998 BLB Champions
    2000 BLB Champions

If they turned in a bad export, the AI would have auto-controlled them just for the one round to get them legal.

Sky --- the AI picks up players during auto-control? (I'm not complaining about this situation with GROVES) I'm just hoping it doesn't happen with someone I want in this next big turn.

If you submit an export with an illegal roster (say you have 47 players active instead of 46, or not enough healthy RBs, or whatever), the AI will take over control of your roster for that one turn to make you legal, and in taking over control, it may well release players it doesn't like, and sign other players. When I had RB injuries last year and forgot to sign someone in the midweek, I position-switched a crappy safety, I think it was, to RB in the gameday export to avoid this.

LESSON: Never miss a gameday export, and never turn in a gameday export with an illegal roster.

that's one part of the programming that does not make sense --- it should just correct the problem and then stop

I don't have a problem with it, since any time it does it, it's my own fault.
