Something I noticed yesterday and didn't get a screengrab of, but it appears any and all players you have a bid on in FA2 will sign by 2.3, if they haven't already signed.

So, I suggest sim 2.1, 2.2 then 2.3-2.5 in any sim schedule.

I disagree. If you miss getting a guy, 2.4 and 2.5 allow you the opportunity to find a replacement to put into the roster before TC.

I think you really want all the guys who have a shot at the final roster to be on your roster before training camp.

        • Who you can then add in the preseason and throughout the entire season.

At some point I'd like to actually play some games.

          • I noticed that, too. But there were 33 free agents with new offers in this stage. I consider it optional, as well as FA11 (which we didn't have separately this year). If it happens to fit into the schedule -- and I think it usually will, as I like LFA1 on Monday, as well as Week 1 -- I'll probably keep it.

I know many especially veterans of the game don't see the point of preseason, but I don't plan on making a radical change to breeze us through there. I can continue to run the preseason at a reduced (nonzero) injury rate, though, although the danger is I'll forget and leave it there. I think I would find it simplest to stay at 100, all the time. Thoughts?

It's actually not totally the same. Two weird things happen once LFA finishes -- restricted players go back to being restricted until post TC, and players start turning down offers even if it means they stay unemployed. During FA, if there is an offer on the able by the end of it, the player will take it.

So it's not really important, but it can be a nice little clean-up stage for FA.

I like how the off season schedule worked. Please keep preseason injuries at a minimum.

Reducing preseason by one stage won't change the schedule as far as when you'll play games. Also, this is a game about running a team, not being a coach... with that comes the offseason. If you don't like the offseason, maybe this isn't the right game for you

Aston, I'd like to see injuries reduced or removed during preseason, but it won't hurt my feelings either way.

                  • Another note... there are several cap strapped teams. I"m sure this will be the case most seasons. They can't really compete for free agents in LFA. They have to make minimal offers to rookie FAs in order to fill out their roster. If you make LFA 3-5 one stage, what do these guys do? Go into TC with 35 players on their roster? All because you want to skip one stage?

The fact is, every decision that is made affects someone else. Because your team is in good shape and you are in a big hurry shouldn't mean you fuck someone else over. Give everyone a chance to play the game... the WHOLE game.

Yes, it really irks me every time someone wants to speed up the game, generally giving no thought to anyone but themselves. Selfishness = bad for the league.

                    • I'm good with 100 injuries in preseason.

                      • The only schedule adjustment if we keep the status quo of running Ex1-5 separately, is Midweek 1 would come on Friday instead of Saturday as it does now. So no change.

I don't think anyone is being selfish here. Just trying to optimize and come up with the most sensible schedule format, since I solicited opinions there. And there are good suggestions.

I would love to hear anyone else's opinion on this post because all I see it as is a giant "fuck you" to me.

I think I'll wait until tomorrow to respond because right now I don't think my response would be very nice.

Oh, the ONE thing I would rather not have is a straight run of the preseason, I want to have PS2 and PS3 on separate sims.

I wouldn't call it a giant "fuck you", but I agree with Irish. In every league a couple people complain about Free Agency or the Draft taking too long. I, on the other hand, am in no hurry. But that's me. I would leave it up to the simmer. He's the one that has to do stuff at a certain time/day. As owners we have time to do our exports at our convenience.
