The opposite can be said of the other WR. His 40 bar should be close to maxed given his combine but it is not.

Yeah, if the 40 time is green, there is zero chance that you will see a high BPR bar.

Interesting take, chuck. You may be right!

I disliked that all his bars started off higher than their combines. It weirded me out. Just like it does with WR Nick Dole.

Best part about drafting late in the 1st round is I won't have to kill myself trying to pick someone early. I don't know about you guys, but I don't see a whole lot of "must have" early 1st out there. I'm guessing by the time it gets to me, the picking will be much better and more in line with a late 1st.

            Early picks come with pressure.

That said, if the well starts running dry, so do late first round picks.

My favorite part of the draft is the last two rounds. Low risk gem hunting.

With FOF2k7, you are dead on. However, I've noticed big changes to the static bars in FOF7. Just giving you fair warning.

On another note, I should have used GD bar and Agility, to keep this conversation from even happening... my fault.

There are three of the players that I was hoping for left and four teams to pick in front of me.

So here is the rest of the story on 1.1. I flew in to NC Sunday night late. Went to sleep around 3am....after driving to customer site. Woke up and went to work with some serious issues going on....left at noon to "make phone calls with my company"...raced to my hotel, fired up FOF7, double-checked who I wanted ( and that's when I realized I forgot to register) had problems drafting my guy, so I put him to the top of my list and set utility to auto draft, let Aston know what I was trying to do then raced back to work to deal with crisis. I do this and say this....because I didn't want to be that guy that fucked up the start of a draft....and I was damned close to fucking it up. :)

I have done some of my own testing with the new version. I agree drafting is not as cut and dried but the overall principles remain intact. I have not noticed major changes in the static bars, I would more call it a minor tweak.

I would say that the overall talent level seems to have dropped and stud WRs seem harder to find. QBs in particular seem really hard to draft.

Moreover, the punishing hitter static bar still seems really important. My first thing to do is still to take draft analyzer and sort by the static bars and compare them to the combines.

What is the punishing hitter bar represent? Tackling ability?

No idea how this bar impacts a player's performance but it is a static bar. If it is high and the corresponding combine is low, then it is a good sign.

(of course the punishing bar is usually 50/50 with strength so if the punishing bar is 100 and strength is 0, then never mind what I just said)

I agree with chuck. Outside of volatility the static bars rarely move more the +/-5 at a time.

This is a players ability or likelihood to create fumbles. He hits and tackles really hard. This is a baaaaad man.

Got my star tackle. I never dreamed I would get him at 10. My scout had Newton underrated. Let's hope his autism doesn't affect his ability to pick up the blitz.
