I'd like to be able to pick a kicker and a punter. It's too hard, IMO, to figure out which has done his job better. One kicker, one punter is a bit easier.

You should know that WLB Quinn Smith from Ohio River is very good

Yeah, Quinn was my #2 LB :) I felt there was one LB that was the best ALL AROUND guy. He had an amazing year and I thought he deserved it the most.

Yeah, I agree. I went with a kicker. I don't follow other teams, so I had to look up the Individual Stats from the Almanac for 2036.

The QBs are very clear cut this year. WR was interesting. I tried to go with two guys who were both prolific and carried the load (target %) for their teams.

I think my #1 choice as a RB is Motor City's guy, for his work in the passing game as well as rushing, and his inability to fumble.

OL was tough to do, but I think I found a few guys who were solid in pass pro and also great in the run game. Waco's tackle seemed to blow everyone out of the water. It's not easy, in this version of the game, for a tackle to not give up too many sacks.

I had to go with Ohio River's WLB as the top DL. As a 3-4 WLB, he is functionally a DL and he was more extraordinary in that capacity than any DE or DT. Waco's Oliver Wunder posted pretty sweet numbers, especially for a DT.

The true LBs were tough to figure. I went with another Ohio River guy, their SLB, for his versatility. He was an effective blitzer, heavily involved in all phases of the game, and put up some of the best LB coverage numbers I saw. The other two guys were ILBs with extremely high tackle rates and they were decently competitive in coverage. It's hard for an ILB not to yield catches by the dozens, though.

DB was a fun one. There are some primo corners in the league right now, guys with 10 and 8 INTs on the year. I couldn't keep the 10-pick man from the #1 spot, but Anchorage's Ralph Reid is such a monster. Guy is a safety and simply phenomenal this year in coverage.

ST Gunner was interesting. There was a guy on Gainesville who finished with 29 tackles in about a third of the ST plays as my pick (Columbus's Erickson), but his ST bar wasn't as good. Port City's Brian Farley seems to be a pretty dangerous dual threat returner.

For team MVP, it was pretty easy. Had to go with DE Lincoln Cleaver. Very good year for him. I would've picked TE Nate Hartman as one of the TEs, too, if I could -- he held his own in the receiving game and was way more involved in the run game than the other two guys I picked. But that's only in KRB opportunities. He didn't make the most of those, so what can I say? Not his best year.

QB was easy, Garner and Jennings.

RB, as with Aston, I liked MTC's RB Rufus Small also... I also liked Curtis Shea. I know Barlow lead the league in rushing, but behind that offensive line my grandmother could have gotten 1000 yards, so I couldn't really vote for him.

I thought WR was easy too... Van Meier, the TD (17!!!) and yardage leader, was my pick. Can't remember my other pick.

Can't remember my OL picks, but I did pick a G, C, and T. I think my #1 was Leon Clevinger, only 1 sack allowed, and over 44% KRB%. I'm sure I got a Camden and Waco guy in there also, but not positive.

Amos Irwin was my #1 LB. I mean, 73 tackles, 9 sacks, 5 INT, and an amazing 86.8 PD% gets my vote every time. Obviously Quinn Smith's league leading 18.5 sacks has to get a vote. I took an ILB for the 3rd LB spot.

Badillo was the top sack getter at DE, making him an easy choice. Cleaver also got a vote because he was the leading DL tackler. Can't remember which DT I gave the last vote to.

DB was easy for me. 10 INT by Cannida and 88.5 PD% gets my vote every time. I threw in a safety for my final vote, Boston's JR Shannon, who played the run and pass both very well... over 100 tackles AND 5 INT.

I put both a kicker AND punter in the K/P field :) I really liked Columbus' punter, Carlton Hotchkiss. Almost 50% of his punts inside the 20, and over 41 NET yards per punt! Brilliant job. I thought return man was easy, with Port City's return man being near the top of both punt and kick returning. Gunner was tough. Had to find a guy with a good ratio of tackles to ST plays WITH several FF. It was really close for me.

As for MVP... We were 4-12, there was very little good to our season, including an injury to our top guy, WR Mallory. So I had to go with our young QB, Alexander Prescott. He had over 4000 passing yards and 91 QB Rating. Considering our poor running game this season, with Doelle not even making 1000 yards, this was a big accomplishment. Also 24 TD and just 14 INT for a young QB... Another possibility was Levi Costa, who was also injured for a quarter of the season... he still got double digit sacks. If he played the whole year, he may have gotten the nod.


I enjoyed doing this quite a bit.

Next season I think I'll add an extra slot for each section other than ST.

Just too many good players and I can't pass on picking Rufus Small and Curtis Shea even though I also want to add in Clyde Grauman.

I went with a kicker but I'd go with Brooklyn's punter probably for those honors. Also a pretty nice In20 rate, great leg, great hangtime.

TE Nate Hartman - Boston - Dude caught 62 balls, which led the Irish.

LT Richard Salley - Brooklyn - 3 sacks allowed on 493 pass plays for a sack percentage of 0.6%, tops in the league for a starting T who played 16 games.

DE Brad Stabenow - Waco - 14.5 sacks in backup duty. Wow. Watch out on 3rd down.

NT Shawn Babka - Portland - This dude tackled 76 people as a NT. Unheard of.

SILB Jerome Hansen - North Liberty - 45 rated, 134 tackles, 11 passes defended for 78.4% pass D. He's doing yeoman's work

LCB Joseph Silas - Lake County - Only 3 INTs, but 22 passes defensed. Bravo.

K Manuel Shields - Lake County - 18 rated kicker, 87% FG, 77.8% for 40+. Amazing for such terrible ratings.

RB/ST Allen Doyle - Gainesville - 29 ST Tackles in 171 plays = 17%. Next closest was 11%.

FL Brian Farley - Port City - 1 PR TD, 1 KR TD, really good overall averages.

QB Norm Dakota - Morgantown - Team MVP - Absolute sea change in Morgantown. Let's hope his fantastic season is a sign of things to come.

All I did was look through last year's stats and find players who we either out of this world or who did significant things for their teams. It was surprisingly fun.
