  • Welcome Rokiu -- new Gainesville owner!

    Hey everyone,

Let's give a warm welcome to Rokiu, a new FOF player who found us through FOF Central. He'll be joining as GM of the Gainesville Gaels. Please help him out if he has any questions -- we were all new once!

      Thank !

I'm sure it will be a hard learning experience, but im aware and ready to draft early for a few seasons.

For a few question, do you guys usually use recommend the gameplan or is it better to micro manage ever bit of percentage? And is it possible to "save" a file to continue to work on it the day after or you have to do everything on it the same time you open it?

By the way, im french Canadian, so you might see a few langage mistakes here and there, please don't mind them ;)

Still, im glad to be part of your group guys !

        Your language skills are great!

I use my own gameplan. Lots of SP testing as well as using the Gameplan utility to see what others are doing. I modify it constantly though.

You can save and load gameplans, for offense and defense. Those links are at the bottom of the Depth Charts/Gameplans window.

I rexxed ('recommend') everything for about five or six seasons until I started getting some tips and reading more. The screens are quite intimidating at first and it took a bit of accumulating advice before I started to feel comfortable with it. There's little protection against screwing things up. Even now, I might be!

I like to put my own GPs just because, but some people rex and are fine with it too. Garion won a bowl that way. Rex has gotten better in this version of the game.

              Hi Rokiu,

I remember when I started playing FOF, I found the game-planning aspect of the game to be very overwhelming.

I would suggest reading through this thread and downloading the game plans in the first post:

              http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/...ighlight=belco

Although these game plans were designed for a previous version of the game, they still work pretty well with the new version. These game plans should give you a pretty good idea of how game-planning works. You can then use some or all of these game plans as templates and make your own adjustments.

I live about a 3 hours south of Calgary. What part of Canada are you from?

Oh thank gawd. Gainesville has been bad lately.

So glad we have competition in the division again!

As far as gameplans, I believe you can do either. I mostly rex my gameplans anymore and tweak them slightly (I won a championship here doing just that).

I am, however, rebuilding my defense so that I can focus more on zone than man defense and once that transformation is complete I will be installing my own defensive gameplan instead of rexxing.

My son is a hockey player and is taking French in school so when he travels to Canada to play, he can communicate. I'll have to get him in here to talk to you guys when you start with all your Frenchy talk.
