My fourth round pick came while I was driving. Can't imagine that'll be a good player.

Maybe we could consider slow roll and slotted times for the next Draft like in the FFL?? It will allow to anyone to know exactly at what hour they are going to pick...Miami Sharks (BLB)
* BLB Champions --> 2017, 2020.
Ohio River Sharks (OSFL)
* OSFL Bowl CHAMPION > 2036, 2047.

I don't know about the slotted times. Today's been going very smoothly, though. Maybe it's the email notifications finally getting through?
--Boston's picks --
At 2.28, we pick one of the promising-looking 2nd round DTs in favor of some other nice-looking players that were hard to pass up. Dalton Maloney has a pretty high grade, though, so maybe he's really high quality himself. Certainly couldn't find a reason to rule that out.
3.28, we missed out on a couple of other players and ended up going with need in WR Quinn Henson. Solid combine, some solid bars. Scout says "Hard to read" and 4 intel. The BPR being around 50 potentially made us think he has a good chance to contribute.
4.28, there were a lot of guards in this draft. I know Dakota and South Maryland had both picked guards I was looking at by this point. Duran was just what was left. His block strength seems abnormally high for his combine, but I think our scouts said "As Scouted". Who knows?
Looking at 5.28 now, as South Maryland for at least the second time this draft takes one of our top considerations. Good picking, IrishGuy.Float likeabutterflysting likeabee.

For our 5th round pick, we picked up a pass rush linebacker that might move to DE. Not sure he's much god, but at DE it'll at least limit his coverage liabilities! Hopefully 252 lbs is enough weight for the move.Float likeabutterflysting likeabee.

If anyone has an early 6th and 7th this year for a 5th next year, I'm interested.

I clearly need to pay more attention. This is F'ING ridiculous. Sitting on one pick for over seven hours now. Just because round 5 ended, doesn't mean stop picking. And if it does...then I vote to change that. I have lost interest in this draft because...IMO...of how it's been dragging. Maybe some of you like the slow roll, let's take 40 days to do a draft. I don't. Then again, a microwave doesn't cook my food fast enough either.OSFL

Round 6 and 7 have been scheduled for Monday, December 22 since the schedule was released. When a day's scheduled picks are completed, the timer goes inactive.
The goal is to help people plan for what day their picks will fall, so they can manage the draft. If that's not being accomplished or isn't useful, then let's change it.
Re: duration, the draft itself was scheduled for 11 days. 5 days slow roll (14-hr clock) for Round 1 teams, and a 6 day live draft (8AM to 11PM EST). Last year's draft elapsed 12 days, and the CyFL's most recent draft was also 11.
Starting at Round 5 and not stopping is a good suggestion. It's not going to make it 10 days, but it'll make the last day go faster -- at the expense of having the last three rounds run together. And it won't get you your rookies faster, because Early Free Agency itself still has to finish.
If everyone's suffering from draft exhaustion, another thing we could do is simply forego the slow roll 14-hour period. Round 1 will probably take two days. The rest will probably take the same (5 or 6 days).
I'll put up a poll to get a feel for everyone's thoughts.Float likeabutterflysting likeabee.

I also agree with Nutah that the delay between rounds, WITH untimed picks, gives people the chance to go through all the picks and prepare for the following round.
The reason this draft has dragged on is because there have been so many missed picks. THAT is what is annoying and needs to find a way to be addressed. I personally think that everyone should be forced to use a list or be autopicked... but this is probably over the top. But, if everyone has a list, and has it set for 30 minutes, it will still take 16 hours to go through a round. So it's really a no win situation, unless all GMs put in the effort to either be around for their pick, or have a list set with a short pick time (15 minutes or less).GM of the South Maryland Maulers 2034-2040

Actually, we've been on track for most of the draft, so maybe there's something up with the schedule if it feels too draggy:
Slow Roll: ~20 picks made
Round 1: Finished at 3:30PM Wed (having started around the 1.20s)
Round 2: Finished at 9:30 PM
Round 3: Didn't finish, but it almost did -- we were at 3.31 at 11PM
Round 4: Finished at 9:30 PM
Round 5: Finished at 3:30 PM, leaving the rest of the day blank
If we keep this up, we'll probably finish both Rounds 6 and 7 today, as scheduled.Last edited by Aston; 12-22-2014, 08:38 AM.Float likeabutterflysting likeabee.
