With the 18th pick Portland selects DT tackle Burt Sanders from the U. Depending on who you ask, this might be a steal at 18. But however you see it, you're getting real value here. Sanders is the next in the great line of Miami D Tackles. Not as polished at a Jerome Brown, or Cortez Kennedy or Warren Sapp, Sanders could pan out to be mentioned in the same breath.
What does he got? Well a ton of ability. We're talking about a guy who at 6-3, 308 runs a 4.91 40, yet is the strongest, most physical tackle in this group. Still very raw as a pass rusher, and may never be one, he'll do everything else you'll need. Agility, power, and he's OSFL ready now.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

At #19 we have what many people are calling a reach, but I'm calling what could be a great great move. Most bureaus had Wesley Giles, DE out of Arkansas as the 6th rated DE in this draft. But I talked to an OSFL personnel man that I respect immensely who after seeing Giles at Senior Bowl practices says that he's the best pure pass rusher he see's in this group....by far.
Giles is raw, not playing a full season til his Senior year after a knee injury and failed rehab attempts kept him on the sidelines. But he exploded his Senior year dominating SEC OT's. including Jumbo Greathouse of Ole' Miss. Weak against the run and not a big hitter, his propensity to pick up schemes quickly and learn tendencies make him a threat on the field. THis is a pick that may have other GM's wishing they took a closer look 3-4 years down the road.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

Rounding out the top 20 at pick 20 we have another DE taken. Puxatawny does a little projecting themselves here and take Grady Stargell from small school Hampton. Stargell really burst on the scene in Senior Bowl practice week as well, and followed it up in the game itself with a solid performance against fellow small schooler Percy Grier, even dominating him at times.
What you get with Stargell is brawn, brains, and speed. You also get a guy who plays with a chip on his shoulder. Stargell really showed he had something to prove in Mobile and that carried over to the combine where he raised some eyebrows. He's been one of the fast movers on OSFL draft charts, although I saw him slipping to the mid to early 2nd round. If he can improve his strength at the point of attack and rush technique he could be a solid starter for years.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

At pick 21 we have only our 2nd receiver taken. Port City takes small school phenom Joseph Gerhardt. Gerhardt is one of a group of about 7-8 receivers that are all around this same area. What Gerhart has more than any receiver in the draft is pure physical strength. He's a fearless competitor who routinely owned the middle on Saturday's.
Unfortunately he was a little too fearless as he missed some time due to injury after th e poundings he took. How will that translate on the next level against the superior athletes of the OSFL? One things for sure this kid doesn't back down to anyone. He's a crisp route runner who can dominate smaller DB's and even out physical some linebackers. This kid is a fighter and I wouldn't count him out.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

At #22 we have San Francisco getting an absolute gem in star Tight End Carlos Nissly. Nissly was a combine dynamo running a 4.76 40 and pushing up 33 reps on the bench. His agility and quickness are very rare for his position. At a whopping 6-7 and 271 he's a nightmare match up for any defense. His size combined with his tremendous run blocking ability gives teams what amounts to be an extra tackle on running plays.
Some people have said Nissly can have stretches where he drops catchable balls, but I reviewed every pass that was thrown to him and I saw only one time where he dropped a ball on third down. When it counted the most Nissly delivered. One final added bonus is Nissley's ability to long snap. He is going to contribute in multiple ways right away. One pick gets you a pass catcher, run blocker, long snapper. He could be the best tight end in the game in 4-5 years.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

At #23 we have Dakota taking NT Bryce Harris out of Rutgers. Harris was bit of an enigma for Greg Schiano's staff. On the one hand you have a player with uncanny natural instincts, brute physical strength, and excellent quickness and footwork. On the other you had a player who seemed to take plays off at times and kind of drifted.
Another concern is how Harris seems to not explode at the point of attack. With his ability he should've dominated more than he did. However with the proper coaching this kid has the ability to take over games, the only question is does he have the motor. At this point in the draft it's worth it to find out.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

This draft is not particularly deep at Safety. But at #24 South Maryland selects the top rated Safety on the board and the first taken overall in Chester Anthony out of Kentucky. Anthony's athleticism allowed him to almost single handedly shut down a high flying Florida Gator team in the swamp returning two INT's for scores.
Anthony has scary speed for a strong safety and amazing agility for the position. In the box, he's a force against the run. Lacking ideal size he packs a punch. Although not a punishing hitter Anthony lets you know he's there. Sometimes he can look lost in zone coverages relying on his speed to over compensate for bad positioning. At 24 hes a solid pick and should be a great contributor.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS
