  • Here we go again!

Three teams haven't exported in a while. Two of those teams haven't posted on the forums in a while. An attempt has been made to contact these teams. If they don't respond, we have another two owner vacancies on our hands.

At this point, I'm tired of the nearly full-time job of keeping this league filled. I realize with 31 owners that we're going to have to replace some bad eggs and we've already done that, but the continual monitoring of interest and babysitting to make sure everyone's actually paying attention to their team is getting really old.

Unless I hear from both those teams and get an export from them tonight, this evening's sim is postponed pending a response from those teams. If they don't respond in a day or two, I'm going to say the hell with it and put them under AI control. They've already missed a portion of the offseason and the last chance to scout the draft class is two days away. Hopefully with a season or two of CPU control, they'll be teams that we supply with human owners down the road. But at this point, it's really the only option in my view.

I've tried to be good about replacing people and not screwing owners who are taking over the abandoned teams, but I don't regard that as an option this time around and I'm tired of the continual task of keeping this league filled with committed owners.

Upon further review, I think we should go on with the sim tonight. I'll flip those teams to AI control and we'll move on accordingly. At least they'll get more attention than their current owners are giving them.

I don't have a problem with less than 100% Human ownership. I say do what you have to immediately and we move on without another delay.

Yeah, I agree. Two teams will probably move to CPU control tonight.

Agreed, move them to CPU control for now. Leave them on that until they respond, or we can find different owners.

Two teams have told me they're definitely still in. Yet they both haven't exported for tonight's sim and they both have a lot of work to do with contracts and free agents. But I guess I'll take them at their word that they'll fix their teams since they did actually contact me today when I asked them.

Barring a miracle tonight, Brooklyn is going to the CPU.

I heard from one team who is getting his act together tonight. The other guy who said he's in gets one more day to submit a file or he's on auto starting tomorrow. Brooklyn will be on auto starting tonight.

Good times! Tonight's sim will be a little late, most likely. But I want to give those who want to participate a chance to catch up and submit an export.

You're doing just fine, Skerik.. As we move along, in our own darwinian way, the weak will die off and the strong will survive. I'm sure there will be people who want to join up, but we don't have to wait for them, I know when I joined it wouldn't have mattered to me at all whether I was taking over a team at mid season or not. I just wanted to play.

The best thing about it is that those who remain will only make the league better by still being here. Those who leave for whatever reason will just give us more chances to find people who won't leave and by process of "evolution" we'll grow into a stronger, faster, better looking league.. Or something.. :)

I think the majority of the owner base is pretty good. I am in other leagues with some of them, so I am anxiously awaiting the season ;)
