The breaking point nears....

Ok, PhantomLord is banned from the league and blocked from my IM after an amusing conversation. I'd suggest anyone else with him on their list does the same.

As for the league....wow. Who'd have thought things would be this hard, huh? If the league was running smoothly, as it should be, I'd barely have time for that among my other pursuits, a full time job, a wife, etc. But these issues are killing me. The league isn't fun, I don't have enough time to run it, etc.

Another thing, everyone asks me questions like I know what's going on. Prior to this league, I didn't know jack about FOF. Jack. Maybe that's a mistake, but it's the way it is and I'm the one who volunteered to run the sims. I'm learning on the fly with everyone else, with help from guys like SkyDog and Eaglesfan, but when people IM me and say, "Hey why didn't my guy sign" I really don't know what to say. We have a questions forum, it's actively trafficked by people who know more about the game than I do, so use it. Please.

PhantomLord was a big part of the problem, but this league....ugh. It's honestly just grating on me these days and I've spent my entire evening dealing with problems stemming from this league. Now I'm rolling back the sim, re-importing all your exports from the night before, re-running the stages, and oh by the way, looking for an owner for the North Liberty team, which we need before we can progress an inch further. I feel like we've been over this ground before, without the rollback thing.

So anyway, I'll post more tomorrow, but I felt like venting now. If someone else with a clue and a shitload of time to deal with all this shit feels like taking over the league, be my guest. Otherwise we're rolling back the sim, re-running the stage, filling yet another owner vacancy, and moving forward when we can. I'll keep slogging through the mud, but at some point this is going to become not fun for everyone instead of just me.

Hang in there Chief. It's a great core of good people and I don't think anyone expects any more of you than you've put in.

We're just a bunch of idiots slogging though it with you (for the most part)...or at least I am.

The first year has got to be the toughest, it'll find it's balance.

Hopefully, we can put this in the past, and it's something we can look back on several seasons from now and share a chuckle about.

There's no way in hell I'd be able to do what you're doing with this league, Skerik. I'm sure once we all know what we're doing, the league will run smoothly and it should be a lot easier for everyone. :)

I find it so amusing that the person who called me a douchebag, and laid in to me post after post, for quitting when I didn't have time and wasn't having fun, purposely cuts most his team to try to "fuck over" the league.

Hang in there Skerik, I came back because you run a good league. I told you that it was never you, just the game, but I was willing to come back because I liked 99% of the league members and had fun with it for that fact. The 1% of trash is now gone and everything else will fall in place. Most of us are newbs, hang in there!

That dude was a problem, and a big one from day 1. If anyone deserved to be booted it was him.

The closest I've ever come to running an online league is the Babe Showdown on OS. And as simple as that was even people bitched...about seedings. :roll: I mean seriously. That's the nature of online world.

Skerik there's always a few that are just bad owners, a few that are not the sharpest knife in the drawer and most that are good.

Remember that the good owners probably stand with you on most issues, and if you need to make any changes to make the league run smoother, or hell even make it enjoyable again then I think we should consider making them.

Regarding PhantomLord- Wow. Must say I am glad to see him gone if he wanted so badly to be an ass. I'm sorry I even tried to help smooth things over and cool him off when he flew off the handle so many times.

That said, I have to honestly say that no one else in this league is even close to being that way. We have a really good league, and you run it extremely well, Skerik. I'm not opposed to you taking some time away from it to just clear your mind or whatever you need to do- I'm sure most or all of us would be supportive of it, because you do a damn good job keeping us up to date on whats going on, if the sim will be a little late, etc. 2 of the other 3 leagues I am in don't do that. It can cause problems for people who aren't always available to send in their exports, etc. I enjoy this league more than I do any other one I am in, due to the group of personalities we have here (especially now with the recent elimination) and due to the fact that the commissioner does his job extremely well. I don't know if I can emphasize that enough.

I'm here for a good time and good competition, and I am sure things will be a lot smoother from here on. Whatever the decisions you make involve, whatver must be done, I support it fully.
