Sorry, I said scout even though I meant coaches. Perhaps scouting is a better way to put it.

Maybe he worked best as a starting CB in base playing M2M and then you pull him for dime and nickel when playing more cover. He sucks in cover. Like, a lot.

I always thought of FOF's Cover 2 as 2-deep, man under (meaning just the two safeties are in a zone and everyone else is 1-on-1). So there's 2-deep loose man and 2-deep bump and run.

SSM/WSZ and WSM/SSZ are the ones where one corner is in man and *everybody* else is in a zone. Not sure how many 'deep zones' there are.

Cover 3 and 4 I also understood as everyone is in a zone, only with different numbers of guys in the deep zones.

A better way to think of it may be in terms of game algorithms: the 2-deep and WSM, SSM coverages are "default" and just make use of different skillsets. The 3+ deep has a pass D bonus and run D penalty applied; the opposite being true for the 1-deep.

* caveat: all FOF6.4 thinking.
