Well, we lose the game, but that doesn't mean there weren't highlights. We got two safeties. I've never seen that in a game before. I rarely see one, let alone two by the same team.

The defense, despite ranking almost last in points given up, have been the bright spot of my first season here. We finished the year with 41 sacks. Something to build on. The offense needs a lot of work though.

So let's go already! On to the off season and the new game. I got a team to build.

We caught a few breaks early and built up just enough of a lead to hold out for a win. Although that late TD drive and onside kick attempt at the end had me sweating.

The only instructions I gave to my defense this week was "double cover Van Meier all the damn time." When he want to the bathroom at halftime, I wanted a guy in the stall on either side. Looks like it worked, on the field for 35 pass plays, 7 targets, 2 catches, 6 yards. 0.86 YPT. Of course he still found a way to get at least 1 touchdown.

Floyd and Sidhartha each took advantage of their single coverage to haul some big catches, and had a couple more taken away on penalties. But we got lucky again and they both caught a case of the drops in the same game. In the previous 15 weeks the two had combined for just 7 dropped passes, in this game they had 5.

Of to the frozen plains of Dakota now (a balmy 23 degrees, I wish it were really that warm here). If we can pull an upset against the Totems then we'll earn the right to have Carey Money embarrass us again.
