Oh thanks to the believers! But it didn´t happens this time!

Utah blew us in all aspects of the game, I can´t do anything against Nutah never and this game was the reflection of this!

I am happy how we played along the last part of the season and with the team!

    Next year more and best!

Good luck the rest of the way I will be glad if you hit the Trophy again becouse only the winner putted me out of the play-offs for second straight year!

              Strick,
No disrespect intended...I spent a lot of time gameplanning for your team. You are a very solid GM and you have a Nice Team, but EVERYBODY wants to be the guy who knocks aston out of the playoffs before the Bowl Game.

                  wow

                  gg Matt.

Four minutes left in the 4th quarter, we go up 23-6 and I’m feeling pretty good about our chances. Saint Paul’s passing game has been going nowhere all game long. Their stud WR has just 1 catch for 10 yards. QB Ed Sage is completing less than 50% of his passes for under 5 YPA, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception when he finally gets the hook.

Next thing you know I’m watching chapter one of “The Legend of Floyd Sturdivant”.

The Bandit’s backup QB comes in off the bench and now they are hitting on every pass. With Floyd under center the Bandits charge 89 yards down the field for their first TD of the game. We can’t even blame a prevent defense, Sturdivant was just picking apart our coverage (1st in the league in pass defense percent) and laughing off our pass rush (4th in the league in pass rush percent).

After an all too predictable 3 and out deep in our own territory followed by an uncharacteristically poor punt, Saint Paul has the ball back at our 40 with 1:40 left to play. Sturdivant connects with Doyle on a 32 yard bomb, then runs the ball into then endzone to bring Saint Paul within a field goal. A penalty wipes out the TD run, but Floyd don’t care, he’ll just throw one instead. 33 seconds left, Saint Paul recovers the onside kick. Two more quick completions from Sturdivant and the Bandits are in long FG range.

                  Then the clock runs out.

15 more seconds and this game is going into overtime. 30 more seconds and Sturdivant is being carried off the field as a hero after tossing his 3rd touchdown of the game. I check the game logs. Saint Paul lost 38 seconds from the time Floyd's TD run was called back to the time he tossed his second TD pass. Thank you referees, I owe you guys another one. (I'll even forgive you for that back to back Unnecessary Roughness bullshit earlier)

It was been a fun ride, that is for sure. Although I do have to admit that good dice rolls and some bad teams helped carry me through there in the second half of the season. But it's still been a fun ride.

Unfortunately I'm thinking it's over. As proud as I am of my mishmash defense (this week we'll be starting 2 rookies and 3 guys I signed off the street after the season began) and for all the great stats I could list about our pass defense, we really are vulnerable to the long ball as Floyd Sturdivant demonstrated today.

Shawn Figures and company have to be licking their lips with anticipation watching the end of this game. Not that they need too much reminding how well it works against us. They Bayhawks put up 307 yards and 3 TD through the air against us in their week 3 win, 141 of those yards came on just 8 long passes.
