Yeah, it's been like this for a while now. The NC has fielded power teams in Columbus, Gainesville, Morgantown, Boston, Dakota, Las Vegas, Yuma, and so on, at various points over the years, often overlapping.
Teams that have recorded 12-4 or better regular seasons since 2022:
AC N/S/E: 2 (Wash '23, Waco '26)
AC West: 9 (Utah 6, Denver 2, Phoenix 1)
NC Teams: 19
Teams that have recorded 11-5 or better regular seasons since 2022:
AC N/S/E: 10
AC West: 13 (Utah 8, Denver 4, Phoenix 1)
NC: 35
We've had a lot of tough battles and close calls in the playoffs over the years (Wash 23 comes especially to mind - multiple score deficit to come back from, I believe), but I still have to say that the biggest reason for our current streak is we've never had to go through the gauntlet that is, yearly, the NC playoff field.
I really hated when I had my best teams (2022-2024 or so) and Gainesville and Columbus had titanic offense. Those 11-5 seasons and not making the playoffs hurt.
We're getting there. I like the way my offense is shaping up now that I have a better QB at the helm. At the very least he's good in certain areas and I can gameplan better for him than I could for my 45-50 all over the place QB.
Apparently I made a mistake putting the ball in Columbo's hands this week while going against quite possibly the top run defense in the league so far. It looks like I'll get my money's worth out of Michael Glenn and Tracy Conlan. I thought with those guys, we'd be multi-dimensional this year on offense, but it looks like the running game will have to carry the load. Happy with the run defense though after giving up 171 yards mostly to Boston's backup RB. We stopped the Gorilla. The 25 carries for 99 yards is deceiving as he got I think around 50 on his last two carries, when you guys just needed to run the clock down. With that, this year is shaping up to be a year of shortcomings on both sides of the ball and with San Fran on the road coming up, things aren't going to get any easier.
Around the league, what a game in Morgantown. Garion surely went to cheering to cussing to breathing a sigh of relief in real short time.

gg Rob. That's a very different Waco team this year. Last year, you must've had three amazing safeties or something, it was all dime all the time. This year, a very base-leaning D. Despite the talent remaining in the secondary, we were able to go deep with abandon...but we'll be without TE Edwin Blades for a time and that's going to be tough on us.
