I think the tackles are important in this game. It's just the difference between having a 90-rated tackle and a 40-rated one who can pass block is not nearly as much as the difference between a 40 rated WR vs a 70 rated one.

The latter takes your team to another level, and you're probably struggling to scrape by with the former.

However, any team that doesn't have good pass-blocking tackles, I view it as an easy opportunity to feast on their QB with a good pass rush. Probably the ONLY thing that has been holding back Gainesville lately (their starting LT gave up 14 sacks! and I'm sure, contributed to a lot of hurries, which are incompletions)

Run block carries weight with the T's overall ratings, but I don't look at that at all. If he's a turnstile he is worthless.

And I don't think LT is as importance in FOF than in real life, though I've never wanted to trust that and played the game my way. After the post by Ben this is all about WR, just see the last 5 draft, of the #1 picks, 4 of them are WR.

Your playmakers would grab 15 or 25 balls in a game, depending on how many hurries and batted balls receive your QB in that game...

Is not the same that Schwartz can haul 4 of the 5 balls in his way, that caught 8 or 10 valid balls in his way...

I´m pretty sure that the RB can run better with a good OL and your entire attack will be better...

But you can see the numbers of the 4 WRs picked #1... Only Marty Hudson of Port City have a really special numbers... Why?? Maybe his OL?? And Van Meier had a great 1st season too but look at his OL... Is all about the team man, I think... So look Utah´s team... Any of their WR is a stud?? Not... But Boone throw for 4.000 Yards

Yep, the team is important. We relied this year on the kind of cohesion that Foley & Boone had built up -- Foley being a stud WR back in his heyday -- as well as the high BPR of other targets as Mansker, Littlefield, and TE Blades.

We also have a terrific OL, but they were almost all fairly low investments. So while OL is valuable, I think it goes back to a) you can get them without investing top picks, and b) you can have 4 good OL and a weak left tackle, and you're still getting killed.

If you can really assemble everything, that's great, but it's also quite uncommon. So if you have the (very rare) opportunity to take a mega-WR and solve a huge piece of the puzzle, do it and don't hesitate. It's a lot easier to try to shore up OL, DL, LB, DB, anything else when you can, than it is to beef up everything else in order to compensate for bad WRs.

I've been busy lately with a new job and frankly I've been a shitty owner. But, I'm going to try to rededicate myself and I will be taking that WR.

Mock Draft 1.0

1. Charlotte Cougars --> Jake's wife finally remembers his birthday last month and stops by Victoria Secret on the way home. Jake is preoccupied and misses the start of the draft...Charlotte is auto-picked...K Darryl Blakely.

2. Utah Bees ---> Nutah decides that being in 7 straight championship games has not killed the league because we once again have a full slate of owners. They select WR Karl Glynn and go to 7 more straight championship games.

3. Utah Bees --> The St. Paul Bandits are really confused picking #31 and trade four future 1st round picks to North Liberty for #3. They then can't decide who they want, get an instant message from Utah, and trade the pick to Nutah for Utah's 1st round pick in two season. Utah selects RB Pete Florence and there is a small uprising in the OSFL draft chat room as several owners storm out.

4. Brooklyn Hitmen --> After several owners quit then come back as different teams all within 30 minutes Brooklyn faxes in their pick, DT Gene Banks. Unfortunately their agent, who also represented Elvis Dumervil in the NFL years ago, still has his antique fax machine and the commish can't read the first name. Going with his gut the commish selects P Mo Banks instead.
