  • little things & drafting

thenewchuckd showed this to me recently. zbuckley, the renowned best drafting whiz in the business, offers pretty damn comprehensive drafting tips. also followed by a good discussion.

I've suspected this in particular, for a long time....
Kailan shared this one with me and I think there's some truth to it. We know scouts are wrong and it seems like there wrong a fair amount but when they're wrong it's more likely they're 180% off. (...) if you get a guy that can't be VO and that's what your scout is telling you, it's likely he's actually VU.

Also a '100 little things' type thread over there.

^ very great point on that 4th year RFAs there. I like these especially:

-Didn't notice that the starting QB doesn't know half the formations he uses in his offense.

-Didn't haggle enough when his left tackle was asking for 12 million a year.

-Didn't notice that his mediocre RB fumbled 11 times last year.

-Didn't see any point in keeping that not very exciting 5th year, fully experienced, special teams ace and affinity guy around as the 7th DB.

-Didn't recoil at the prospect of paying way too much for a good player at a non-impact position
discuss away ! i figure it's good to do this every couple of years since the old threads get buried and we have some new owners. And as we're headed to the offseason...

I wanted to post over there but I forgot. I have seen VO guys come back VU quite often. What is not as clear is the reverse. I *think* VU guys are more likely to be O when the scout is wrong, since I have seen it happen 2-3 times, although not nearly enough to say it always happens.

Even the VO instead of VU does not *always* happen but it certainly happens quite often.
