  • 2026 Wildcard Discussion

Rematch with the Grizzlies, the team that beat us by one point in the playoffs last year. We always seem to play Denver well, coming up just short; last four games - 10 points, 6 points, 5 points, 1 point. Hopefully that trend continues and we get over the hump.

I do not have confidence in this club, having getting killed 3 of the last 4 weeks. But, we do tend to bring it in the playoffs. The AC West has long been a thorn in our side, so it's not like I don't have gamefilm to pull here...

2-2 alltime vs Camden in the playoffs. At least Newman is old now.

We go as far as McBriar takes us. Troglia is back from injury to shore up our pass defense.

Locked & loaded. Austin is indeed back in the saddle. Stud LB Bromell sits, RB Hanks is questionable - but still slotted as starter. Tweaked and re-tweaked the gameplans, so think I have my best shot in. We shall see...

I'll be posting my file soon.

Hoping to get my first playoff win in this league. I've got to shut down the leagues number 1 offense with my 9th rated defense.
It looks like a great matchup on paper. I'm confident we can win, but it's 50/50 for that happening.

Ok I am loaded and ready to go. The confidence has just drained after analysing Lake County

Good luck Plastic. I hope it's a hell of a game

            Boston has uploaded.

Looking forward to the rematch against Las Vegas. Hopefully we bring our A-game this time.

Not only is Newman old now, Casey Baumgartner's performance has dropped faster than... well, there's a Felix Baumgartner joke in there somewhere.

We've played plenty of wildcard games before, but this is the first time in a long, long time where we are the wildcard. Maybe that will bring a change of luck, as we've also lost plenty of wildcard games before.

Speaking of wildcard losses, biggest dissapointment (other than our 12 year division winning streak ending) might be not getting a shot at revenge against Morgantown this year. Unless you count keeping them out of the playoffs through tie breakers.

                Oh, and locked and loaded.

                  Good Luck Jughead,

I always have an iffy feeling when we play Washington.

Oh man, this one really hurts. We kept Lake County under control until the 4th quarter, then we blew it

Xtreme go ahead for the first time with 7.44 remaining, but miss the XP, so only lead by 2.
Our next possession we fumble, giving Lake County the ball at our 25. They go on and kick a FG from there to lead 15-10.
                    Then this happens:

New Orleans: I formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 34 with nickel personnel and 1-deep, man-to-man coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
1-10-NOS32 (4Q: 02:19) Pat McGinn pass completed to WR Darrin Southern for 38 yards. Tackled by CB Jake Winslett. Southern gained 16 yards after the catch. PENALTY: Lake County was called for Offsides. The penalty was declined.

New Orleans: Pro formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 with dime personnel and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
1-10-LAC30 (4Q: 02:19) Pat McGinn pass was intended for WR Darrin Southern and was intercepted by CB Kurt DelNegro at the LAC15. Tackled by Tyrus Hawkins.

We had time, a 2 minute warning, and timeouts remaining. Just play it safe and we stand a 50/50 chance

Anyway, I'm not a guy who holds a grudge. It was a hell of a game Plastic. Not the result I wanted, but it's a classic playoff game.
Good luck the rest of the way!

We had every chance to win this one, despite many mistakes. Down 21-17 late in the 4th, we intercept the ball... then Austin throws his 3rd INT of the day to ice the damn thing. *sigh* gg Marv.

Unless you too jump on the bandwagon leaving OSFL, there's always next year for me to keep you out of the playoffs or embarrass you in the playoffs...again. Fumble, fumble, fumble. Not sure which I'll prefer.

The Totems will be having a turnover intervention for McBriar a few days before Christmas. Washington and Austin are welcome to our celebration of healing.

If it makes it any better we didn't actually keep you out of the playoffs through tie breakers. Both North Liberty and Yuma had head to head over you, and then we had head to head over both of them.

                            Also gg Dakota.

Always nice to be on the winning side of one of those 4th quarter playoff turnover meltdowns. Although some of our guys took it better than others. After they announced that 3rd fumble (and the second one lost) we found poor Corwin Metzenbaum curled up in the corner mumbling and crying to himself.

This post season is feeling an awful lot like the 2022 and 2023 playoffs, when squeaked through the wildcard round and promptly got sent packing in the division round. Good chance history will be repeating itself too, as next up we travel to Columbus to face the Catfish.

                            Also, locked and loaded

We are probably at fault for our "triggering" actions in the case of poor Metzenbaum. That said, I was pretty sure I was going to get my face slammed in by Columbus when I played them in the postseason (Utah, too) and I came out on top. ANY GIVEN SIMULATED SUNDAY! gl in the rest of your postseason run! A guy like Newman deserves to go out with a bang!
