We welcome back Phoenix for part 2, after our overtime comeback thriller in Week 10 in the desert. We already have a first-round bye locked down, but not home field, and we want to do what we can to keep these guys out of the playoffs.
It's not easy to beat a team three times in one year, and the AC West is making a strong push to send three teams to the playoffs this year.
AC:
The division winners are all in the drivers' seats, although there's still a chance that the #2s in the North, South, and East will overtake the incumbents.
The WC picture can still be anyone's game, but New Orleans and Denver appear to be in command there and in control of their own destinies. A slip up by either team could bring in another team.
NC:
It's looking like playoff heartbreak is in store for some team or another. 7-6 NLB, 8-5 Boston, and 8-5 Yuma are all out of the playoffs if it started today. The NC West, in particular, is a dogfight - with its top three teams 9-4, 9-4, and 8-5.
Columbus and Dakota look like the top candidates for skipping the WC week.
Rodney Granger Player of the Week:
QB Randal Zeutschel, the rookie 2nd round pick who has started 4 games for the Brooklyn Hitmen this year. He is one of four BKL QBs to start a game, and one of five with at least 30 attempts. He took over early in the season, but has since given way to Melvin Caver, and is now out with severe depression.
Cheer up soon, Z!
