  • Week 15 Discussion / Playoff Picture

We welcome back Phoenix for part 2, after our overtime comeback thriller in Week 10 in the desert. We already have a first-round bye locked down, but not home field, and we want to do what we can to keep these guys out of the playoffs.

It's not easy to beat a team three times in one year, and the AC West is making a strong push to send three teams to the playoffs this year.

    AC:
The division winners are all in the drivers' seats, although there's still a chance that the #2s in the North, South, and East will overtake the incumbents.

The WC picture can still be anyone's game, but New Orleans and Denver appear to be in command there and in control of their own destinies. A slip up by either team could bring in another team.

    NC:
It's looking like playoff heartbreak is in store for some team or another. 7-6 NLB, 8-5 Boston, and 8-5 Yuma are all out of the playoffs if it started today. The NC West, in particular, is a dogfight - with its top three teams 9-4, 9-4, and 8-5.

Columbus and Dakota look like the top candidates for skipping the WC week.

Rodney Granger Player of the Week:
QB Randal Zeutschel, the rookie 2nd round pick who has started 4 games for the Brooklyn Hitmen this year. He is one of four BKL QBs to start a game, and one of five with at least 30 attempts. He took over early in the season, but has since given way to Melvin Caver, and is now out with severe depression.

    Cheer up soon, Z!

If I keep winning I get a bye, something I think I've only had once in Dakota. My first season I went 14-2 and hosted a wild card game.

Duckworth is at exactly 1000 yards rushing. He is my first 1000 yard rusher since my first season in 2018 when Sherdrick Allen ran for nearly 1400 yards.

I shouldn't be winning games, but I am.

Bah, Vandersommen made a lot of huge catches for the Bees this week.

I wasn't even going to start him. Then I thought, Mansker's RR is really high, and I wanted to funnel the ball to my TE. And he has higher cohesion. He's had a really bad year so far, Vandersommen, but he made up for it today.

Boone & Garner were neck-and-neck in last week's Greta list for best possession QBs. Randy & Vandersommen hooked up on some nice 3rd-and-long completions to that end. Figured it was easier throwing long against the pass normal, than the 1st-and-10 pass aggressive.

Hoping to win at least 2 of these last 3. I'm not so sure I'll make it though after the last game

Win here seals the division for me. Not feeling terribly impressive this year, but as long as we can achieve that goal, all I can ask. gl ryan.

Pearl Harbour looking good right now but it's far from over. The playoff picture is so tight, it would be sad not making playoffs at 11-5 after struggling these last couple of seasons.
WR Beuter and QB Shedleski are finally showing some chemistry and our running game has been solid with our one-two punch. Defense has been holding its own with S Bensen all season. Curious to see how this season will end up.

Oh, I meant this team isn't feeling too impressive. We're gonna get killed in the playoffs if we don't pull our heads out. Division is looking interesting.

The race for the #1 overall pick is also pretty tight!

Kalispel, Memphis, Ohio Valley, Los Alamos, Chicago, and Brooklyn are all 3-10. San Francisco is 2-11.

Charlotte, Anchorage, Punxsutawney, and Kalispel are also in strong contention at 4-9. Looking over their closing schedule, it may be tough for anyone to outrace San Fran to last place, though -- at Yuma, Phoenix, and at Las Vegas, not an easy ticket.

Wow, that's a hell of a way to close out the season. No offense, but I'd be surprised if San Fran don't pick 1st, purely because I wouldn't expect a win against any of those teams
