Looking over the codex and I came across this ==== "But EaglesFan27 made it very public in the eNFL that he thinks sitting your starters in the pre-season results in a sluggish start to the regular season. So he played his starters, and then went on to go 19-0 and win the Super Bowl."

We think they're all nice now with the advice they're giving us, but I wonder if our feelings will change when they summarily crush us once the real games begin. :)

I've always kept my "starters" at a low during preseason, with an occasional exception. I've won well over seventy percent of my games and started off this season 5-0 in the DFL.

It's all pretty much conjecture, hence the "I think" part of his post. 8)

2007 is different. There's no seasonal rust factor in 2004. Jim decided, after much endless, tedious, often contentious debate, to add that to the new version. So there is a little bit of a penalty for tossing all your scrubs out there. Though, even with 60 men, it's hard to field a team of all scrubs. Some of your starters are going to have to play anyway.

I have a low tolerance for debates. Take that part with a grain of salt.

In retrospect, I think my thinking was faulty for FOF2004 since Jim specifically added a seasonal rust, then again, I can't help but wonder if it was there in some form but hidden before...

In any case, now I play starters for sure since we know there is seasonal rust and the younger and more inexperienced the starter is, the more I play them.
