I would also like to ask that we consider setting this league up realistically with the small market/large market considerations in place. I love the challenge of a small market team and all the issues that accompany it. I'm not in favor of stadium sizes and economies set on equal footing.

I'd also like to ask that the injury settings be set at 100 to provide another depth of realism to the game.

What do the other vets think? Noobs to the game, feel free to jump in and give your two cents worth as well, I'm not trying to snub anybody.

Well, 200 is the most realistic injury setting, not 100. That being said, some have found it not as enjoyable to play with it at 200. However, if we level the economic playing field (which I *STRONGLY* recommend), 200 is still quite a bit less than real life.

The problem with non-level playing fields is that some teams get stuck with bad turf, andaren't able to upgrade for quite some time.

I think since this is a fictional league, it's best to have a level playing field when we start .That way, no one is started at a handicap. As far as injuries, if 100 is supposedly what most play on, but 200 is the most realistic...why no somewhere in the middle?

My opinions don't mean much, because I really haven't had the chance to play FOF 2007 yet.

Barring a drastic change of heart, we're going to use the level economic playing field. While some might enjoy the challenges accompanying a small market team, it does seem to severely handicap teams from a stadium (and therefore injury) perspective and it doesn't seem all that fair to assign someone a lousy draw like that for the sake of "realism." I'm sure teams will begin to separate themselves from each other based on their management and how they're run, so the teams won't be "level" for long.

As for the injuries, I'd like to use whatever is the most realistic setting. During the first two years of the OOTP league, we've found that injuries haven't been as frequent as we'd like so we're increasing them this year. So I'd definitely like to use whatever is the most realistic setting, which sounds like 200.

Good stuff. I hadn't thought of the turf issue. It wouldn't be fun to have a superstar get turf toe during the first preseason game. I just thought it would be something a bit more . . .constructive to discuss this than the past discussions I've railed in.

Opinions count from everyone. So, contribute.

I'm excited about this league because it's the first to let the owners come in and select city and logo. Most have predefined cities and team logos and all that stuff. It's cool to start off this way!

I would say we should go with a level playing field.

FYI, I'm fairly certain that's not true, at least not for fictional leagues. Off the top of my head, IHOF, WOOF, FOFL, WAFL and CFL all let owners select city and logo, and there are probably others. The Super League is the only fictional league I know of that the commish predefined the cities and logos.

I'm supposed to be cutting back on my FOF activity - and am, but I've never had the chance to start from scratch like this, so screw it, I'm doing it. Looking forward to it. I always wanted a team called the Utah Bees but keep winding up with inherited/immovable teams in every other league I'm in. (One league wouldn't even let me change my helmet avatar!) I could have moved the Toledo Titans in the DFL - I was their first GM, but they started as a CPU team created by the Commish at the time - I think, but decided not to while they were on that incredible roll.

                    So... this is fun.
