gg Nutah -- about what I expected --- secondary can't stop anyone ---

      QB Boone was great as was WR FOLEY; Your safeties had some huge defenses;

We could not stop you on third down ...

Ouch. Give up an 80 yard TD pass early, turn the ball over deep in my own territory immediately afterwards to quickly give up 14 points. Unable to get anything but field goals until late, with LV's passing defense suffocating us.

Parrish made a comeback run late, and he's old, so it might be that this was his final game. LV had to punt from their own 17, punt goes 45 yards, -5 yard return, holding on Dakota. LOL! Parrish got them moving but then threw an interception on what might be his last pass.

GG vegas, and good luck in the playoffs!

Thanks. It turned out to be our kind of game: get a lead and run the ball, force Dakota into passing the ball. GG.

As a reward for winning we now get the dubious honor of playing (and getting our asses kicked by) Columbus.

gg jzicc. That was not at all what I expected. I guess Boone was saving it up all season and taking it easy so he could unleash in the playoffs? I haven't seen this kind of game from him in a long time. He just rained bombs at will, all game. He didn't miss and he didn't throw picks. This was pure 2022 Randy. I thought he was gone!

Either the Utah defense stepped up big-time (you're right about the safeties, who had 7 PDs between the two of them) or McGettigan crapped his pants today. He had a really rough start to the game. Oddly enough, he did better at the end, when he was facing the most pass aggressive defenses and the longest odds. The PXT pass attack is obviously quality, but just couldn't connect for most of three quarters.

Was surprised to see B.J. Wayne in there. Guess he got healthy!

Was equally surprised to see my safety Brent Driscoll in on a few plays. He never played when I asked him to start and he's still got the turf toe. Not sure what happened.

Backup QB Roderick Sikkenga gets his first action in the year at the end of the game. That was good to see.

On the Utah side a lot of players stepped up in weird areas. 2nd-string TE Billy Ballard had another solid game through the air (4/4-75-TD). The Phils' run defense was very stout, but Giang carved them up Air Leach style, with 9 receptions on 9 targets for 50 yards. And 6th string ST specialist WR Eric Flynn, rusty and seeing his first playing time of the year, added 3 catches on 3 targets for 62 yards. Definitely making a strong case for playing time there.

            --

And now I get to play Denver for a third time, which makes me want to curl up and cry.

A crushing double OT loss, our 3rd OT loss of the year.

              Good game Camden.

When I go TE heavy, my 2nd TE tends to get more targets because he's always on the field in two TE sets. Perhaps that's why he ended up with more targets ... or your other TE just has crap endurance. ;)

I think that's part of it. I've been slightly disappointed in the starter's performance (or maybe just spoiled by years of Barlow) so I've made an active effort to take him out of the passing game. His endurance is alright, but I leave him pass blocking a lot. I think this may have a lot to do with it: he had a high number of targets otherwise. It may be that the TE pass block setting only applies to TE1 in 2TE sets.

                    GG Koz!

Waco holds on to win their first playoff game in franchise history! It was a tough, tight match for 60 minutes with the home team celebrating at the end. What a great season for the boys from Waco.

On an interesting note, at least for the Waco faithful, it seems that the experiment of converting RB Juan Morant to a FB (and was drafted for this purpose), is working out with good dividends. If his initial season is an indicator (Not stellar but WAY better than expected considering that I didn't start using him until a ways into the season)...

and if his first game in the playoffs are a measure of maturity at the position where he can be credited with assisting in 50 yds of offense and a TD...

Waco: I formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 and 3-deep zone coverage, expecting the run.
1-10-OHV30 (1Q: 14:50) Gabe Cebelak ran a counterplay inside the left tackle for 30 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! Key block delivered by Juan Morant. Waco 6, Ohio Valley 0

Waco: Pro formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 and 2-deep bump-and-run coverage, expecting the pass.
2-10-WAC47 (4Q: 14:02) Buddy Pritchard ran around right end for 20 yards. Tackled by ILB Bernie Price. Key block delivered by Juan Morant.

the the future looks very bright for this budding star. We will definitely be feeding him the ball more this next season. Now it is on to the next round of the playoffs! WooHoo!!!

Congrats, fmonster, but I've gotta say that I don't believe a counter play resulted in positive yardage. It never happens in my games. ;)
