gg Koz, After you scored right at the top of the 4th and then forced us 3 and out deep in our territory on the next drive I thought we were seeing another 4th quarter collapse from my team. But the balls were bouncing our way today and our offense remembered how to play mistake free, keep away football with 10:56 minutes of possession out of the last 15:00 of play.
Good thing too, because Walter Andrews was just having his way with our defense. 0 sacks, 1 hurry, 0 QB knockdowns, 1 blocked pass, 0 passes defensed, 0 interceptions. With 3 drops TE Kelly Chervet did more to slow down the Ohio Valley passing attack than our entire defense combined. I can only assume Andrews hurt his neck shaking his head at the rookie, because our guys never laid a hand on him.
This win should give us the division title, unless the game has changed the way it figures tiebreakers, even if we lose next week and South Maryland Wins.

In other news, welcome to the 20 Touchdown Club, Rico Lofton. While it might not be as exclusive as Bobby Tubb's table for one over at the 50 Passing Touchdown Club, it is still a place few others have gone before.
WR Shannon Rudzinski (CLB) 23 (2018)
RB Kenyon Heflin (MEM) 22 (2010)
RB A.J. McGee (WAS) 22 (2019)
RB Burt Newman (CAM) 22 (2021)
WR Julio Strickland (GAI) 21 (2022)
RB Skip Alig (WAC) 20 (2007)
RB Kenyon Heflin (MEM) 20 (2007)
RB Burt Newman (CAM) 20 (2020)
RB Burt Newman (CAM) 20 (2022)
WR Rico Lofton (CLB) 20* (2023)
And since one of Rudzinski's 2018 TDs was on a kick return, Lofton (who has scored two or more TDs in each of the last five games) still has an outside shot at tying or even beating the single season receiving TD record.

Thanks Dakota, My team is all over the place this season.. Last two weeks I have beat two playoff teams and early this season I have blown numerous leads late. Definetly going to tell my team one thing, if we get a piece or two in the off season and play more consistant we will make the playoffs.Head Coach and GM of Portland Phantoms

Yeah, if we could have done anything offensively this week, our ability to generate turnovers would have made it an easy game, but that Portland team just kept stuffing us. In the end, we felt like we blew one, but we didn't deserve to win in the first place.
GG Portland.
