Seriously? 1st offensive play from scrimmage:

San Francisco: Strong formation, strength is left. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the pass.
1-10-SFO20 (1Q: 10:28) Rico Whalen pass fell incomplete, intended for WR Lenny Weaver. DT Donnie Creekmur hurried the quarterback into a bad throw. San Francisco's Shawn Wells was hurt on the play.
Prize rookie WR Shawn Wells goes down with an injury. It's a two week injury, but still, 1st play? Come on!

I sure hope not. A few years ago we signed WR Courtney Bensen to a HUGE FA deal and we lost him for the whole season in our 1st preseason game. He was never the same player after that injury. We're jinxed at wideout here in SF it seems.

well if you want to unburden yourself we could always use a WR in the desert perhaps the dry heat will help him

I'll make sure he's ready for the glue factory before he goes.

It was the damn lockout. The rookies got soft and out of shape. ;)

Edit: Hmm. Looks like my roster and depth got reset. I hate that. Gotta check my sp settings.

So I didn't bungle my roster and all the cuts I meant to make happened. That is a start. Waiting last minute really has me biting my nails...

Looks like I had the gameplan for Memphis last year in today...no wonder I kept aggressively expecting pass plays D:

Pretty exciting and close game as far as preseason ones go. GG Brooklyn!

Why did I draft a QB with a near max sense rush bar again? Oh yeah, to watch him get sacked five times.

And now I'm left wondering why I bothered to trade for a receiver. Don't need him.

Would you like a DE? I wanted to move Carlton Ellis before the draft, but no one seemed to want him. I truly believe he's a better 4-3 DE than 3-4. He's all pass rush and no run.

I actually have a surplus of DEs, as well. (That and I run a 3-4 :P) I have a guy or two who may fare better in a 4-3, incidentally...including this guy who went +12 in his rookie camp with Denver last year.

Stayed healthy and played well defensively.. Rookie WR Ed Henson looked outstanding, catching 4/6 for 93 yards and a score. His first reception as a pro was a 41 yard TD.
