If you haven't noticed by now, a lot of my posts are set-ups for easy jokes. I throw alley-oops.

He was hitting really well, so well I thought he deserved a move up in the lineup...of course he had an awful week when I put him in the #3 spot.

      Patriots Adam Nickell Hurt
Thursday, June 8th, 1989: The Pawtucket Patriots were dealt a severe blow when Adam Nickell was hurt making a defensive play recently in a game against the Maine Guides. After the game, the team trainer reported Nickell might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 27-year-old center fielder out for the rest of the season with a torn labrum. They indicated it would take Nickell at least 9-10 months to heal.

In his stats this season, Nickell has posted a batting average of .340 with 81 hits in 238 at-bats, no home runs and 28 RBIs. He has also scored 30 runs, walked 17 times and compiled a .382 OBP.
