Because the BLB roster expansion in September, we felt that we wanted to limit the HORIZON LEAUGE playoffs to the fastest format possible allowing teams to keep their playoff squads in tact for just one week and miss very little of that critical big league experience. That’s why these eight playoff teams will be seeded 1-8 by record and play a simple single elimination tournament for the HORIZON LEAGUE title

Get the AAA playoffs out of the way and provide the excitement of a tournament.

I like this too. I held back a few of my own potential minor leaguer call-ups so that they could play in the AAA playoffs.

A crazy thing inside me believes that the experience is good for them; that winning breeds success in the BLB.

Having an opportunity to see them play in the postseason (assuming Tucson, for example, can make it again) and calling them up for most of September is a nice bonus. I always felt bad when guys from the 1987 AAA team didn't get to have that Won AAA Championship mention in their history.
