Maybe a rule that any 1-game playoffs get their own sim?

Could we call it the "Lonnie Coleman Rule"?

Funny thing is, Coleman was actually one of my biggest suprises late in the season. But, can't expect much on 2-days rest.

Let's also not forget we ran off 6 straight wins to end the season as well.

I did pick you to make the playoffs.

Your team was great... your team IS great.

No matter what happened in the Game 163, the bottomline is the Playboys did what they needed to do to be there and all my team had to do was win 1 of 3 vs Washington and couldn't get it done.

WC took care of business, we didn't.

Definitely a good idea. Any team/owner that uses 7 day lineups could potentially be at a disadvantage during the 1 game playoff because you never know what the AI is going to do at that point.

I think anyone is at a disadvantage. The ones with the least would be the staffs set at "start highest rested starter."

Either way, knowing how important a one game playoff could be, perhaps it would be nice to have a quick one day sim for those guys. People would have to agree to it, though as it takes a sim day away. There's no guarantee that the other GM will be around until the next day to even check on the results of the sim.

Anyway, great article, Clay. I'm happy for Jistic, but at the same time, I feel horrible for you. You had a great season and definitely got one of my votes for Best GM this season with the Woodbury trade, Rule V pickup, and pitching development.

Like I said, I really was rooting for Virginia.

I thank Diesel for his part for sure. I needed a lot to go right and just got lucky.

I've also won 100 games and missed the playoffs before, so I know what that's like.

All I can do now is beat Diesel. Of course that will be very difficult. But it's a best of 5 so who knows. McEvoy is back to haunt me!
