Stat of the Day today is a little lame... but it did bring my attention to that Larry LaRochelle 1988 season.

Dude won 13 games AND played over 100 innings (total) at three different positions.

    • That Pawtucket team was interesting in 1988. Joe Ponte got 10 starts at SS, 2 more at 2B and one in RF.

Still, better than having the clown around.

      • That's when Pawtucket maximized their money and didn't win anything of significance....

Now they spend recklessly and don't win anything of significance....

We were talking about '88. And we were trying to wax nostalgic about Mahoney. Stop reminding us you're here.

I had a feeling you'd say something like that.

I'm trying to think of an MLB equivalent to Hampton. Fat white left handed 1B.

First thought is John Kruk, but though his career stats do match up somewhat, I didn't realize Kruk was only 5'10 and 170 lbs. I feel like there's a lie in there. Or maybe I'm just so used to seeing Kruk now.
