                      I believe that the "believers" in TTO say it's important because it's the only three events that do not involve the Defensive Team and therefore remove one of the most difficult factors to track.

                        • Not only Deer... but Tettleton and Inky too. All 3 of those guys were on the Tigers at the same time. '91 season... easily the year I went to more games than any other. Man I saw some legendary swings and misses that summer.

                              • Maybe I'm still missing something but my problem with TTO at my low level of understanding is that it's not weighted or doesn't differentiate between Ks vs BB vs HRs. A guy with 700 Ks, 100 HRs, and 150 walks with similar ABs to a guy with 300 HRs, 250 walks, and 400 Ks will have the same %.

                                I dunno. I guess dudes who care about it look at this stat and when satisfied, then use other sabermetrics to tell the story.
