  • We're still way down in 14th, though we've now got 4 prospects in the top 69. Shawn Gates has fallen back a couple spots to 21. We'll probably see what he's got in Spring Training coming up shortly. Our last big-time pitching prospect flamed out shortly after we brought him up to the bigs, so there's no rush for Gates even if our pitching struggles.

    • Up to 8th best system in the league. Hopefully its even better once the draft is done :)

Dodson keeps rising up the list and is now the #24 prospect in the league after being in the 40s last year.

      • With Wallace (HYU) and Gonzales (PAW) both likely making their big club... their eligibility should get blown sometime this season. That means I only need to jump that "Rock and Roll" kid to get Herrerra up to the #1 Prospect spot.

All in all, really, really happy to have two Top 10 prospects in my system after moving some and missing on quite a few 1st Rounders.

        • So based on a discussion in the beta forums about how to better handle the BA top 10's and top 100's, it seems that it is currently based not only on the prospect's current ratings and potential but also on the level that they are currently in. In other words players (and systems) will get a boost for playing at higher levels in the minors (even if they are ill suited for the level). Is this common knowledge? I was very surprised to realize this...

So what this means, Clay, is that all you would need to do to get Herrera in the top spot is to play him at AA or AAA.

          • I love how the top 100 guys I get in trades drop immediately after I get them.

He's not ready. If he comes out like gangbusters in the first two months, I'll move him to AA. But, he needs to show a lot more in Single A.

                • Nice to get an unexpected entry. Jerry Morgan, a 2nd Round pick from '84, jumps into the Top 100 for the first time at #54. Funny part is he almost got traded twice this week for a crappy pick. Got lucky.

                  • Surprise! one of the players I drafted got into the top 100.

Patton debuts at #100, he has had a great start in AAA might get the bump to AA before seasons end if he keeps it up.

                    • We were 6th in the rankings last update, now we're 7th. Still, I don't remember my organization ever being ranked this highly in the prospects list. I really like the pitching I have making its way through my system. Gates is already pitching well in the Majors, Tada is doing well in AAA, Castre in AA and Cain in A. Tada and Castre are newer entries to the list and playing up to that level.

                      • See Jerimiah Wallace used up his eligibility and gave up the #1 spot to Carbajal.

                        • I knew I shouldn't have mentioned anything. We've slipped back to 10th. I guess Tada turning 24 really hurt his rankings I guess. He went from #85 overall to 20th in my organization.
