We're back, and it appears Washington is as well. After a 5-1 week the Bats now have six more wins than their closest competition, the Wildcats, and have built a ridiculous 12 game lead in the Stout over Carolina. The sad thing for the Tobs is that they would be leading the Ale division. The team of the week though was California who went 6-1 thanks to sweeping Phoenix and taking three of four against New York. They are now just 2.5 games back from Windy City in the Bock. Another hot team has been Hartford, who went 5-1 as well. After losing Levi Lane they have put together a 19-7 June and are just a game back in the Ale. Goodness what will they do when he returns? Meanwhile Lager friends Toronto and New Orleans each went 5-2.

Performance of the Week
1B Henry 'The Artist' Miller - We missed this 10 days ago as Miller turned in the third best performance of the season on June 20th against Maine. In six at bats he racked up five hits, hit two home runs, drove in three, and scored five times as Toronto won 18-6. The longtime Export had a disastrous season last year, and Montreal let him walk. This year he's on pace to hit .311 with 45 HR and 127 RBI while putting up a 6.1 WAR, which would be a career high for the 28 year old. It must just hurt poor Montreal fans to see the 2060 Brewmasters MVP play for their rival.
Prospect of the Week
P Zane 'Topper' Rich - Welcome to the Show, as the 22 year old made his BLB debut this week. Yesterday against NYC, the 3rd round pick from 2059 took the mound and pitched 5.1 innings against the Cyclones. He allowed five hits, three runs (two earned) and after Cali won 9-3 got his first major league win. He has some control issues, but he throws six pitches and can hit 100 mph on the day, and scouts believe he can be a future #2 starter in the league.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. With this being the last day of the month we'll mention it again as the Whalers and Bats have been doing all the damage. Both teams have gone 19-7 thanks to solid pitching and just smashing the ball. The Whalers have scored 158 runs, first overall, while the Bats have scored 152, second overall. Pitching wise Washington has put up a 3.30 ERA and outscored opponents by 61 runs, while Hartford has put up a 3.33 ERA and outscored opponents by an even more dominating 69 runs. Next up is California who went 17-10, while Toronto and Windy City have gone 16-11. On the other side of life Maine has gone 5-21. The Guides won 96 games in 2061 and went to the postseason, but they are a long way from that now.
2. Congrats to Rick 'Barracuda' Robertson for reaching 3000 career K's this past week. In the long and storied history of the BLB he's the 31st player to reach this milestone. Drafted in the 4th round of the 2050 draft by the then Indianapolis Racers he turned into a 7x All-Star who helped the Wildcats win the 2057 Brewmasters. Lifetime he's 148-117 with a 3.42 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, while putting up a 119 ERA+. Since breaking into the league at the age of 20 he's started 31 or more games in 10 straight seasons while striking out between 241 and 295 batters every single year. Mr Reliable.
3. Nineteen of the 24 teams in the league still have a 10% or higher shot of making the postseason according to our friends at Stats+. Currently Washington and Windy City are the only two at 100%, while LAD, Wilmington, California, and Carolina are all at 96% or higher. What's crazy is that the Import is so lopsided that five of the six playoff teams are already decided...and we're still a few weeks from the All-Star break. The final spot looks to come down to New York, Baltimore, Batavia or Denver. We suppose that when those aforementioned five teams are five of the six best teams in baseball things like this will happen.
4. Speaking of the All-Star game the voting has been pouring in. Currently in the Import, California's Rory Elia Jr. leads all with 3,672,557 votes. Meanwhile in the Domestic it's Pawtucket's Brian Van Hook who has tallied up 4,289,435 hanging chads. Van Hook is currently hitting .355 with 21 HR and 66 RBI while being on pace for an 11.0 WAR. Elia Jr. is hitting .298 with 19 HR and 45 RBI, while being on pace for an 8.6 WAR. Both of these guys are just 23 years young.
