The Roadrunners beat up on Denver and Philly to the tune of a 6-1 week, a now 31-15 record, and just 3.5 games back from super Seattle. Maybe these are your fathers Roadrunners, the ones that won two titles in three season back in 2021 and 2023. The other top weeks were the Canadians who went 5-1 to get above .500, and Syracuse, Maine, and Baltimore who all went 5-2. On the flip side Denver went 1-6 while Hartford closed the week out by losing five straight to go 1-5.

Performance of the Week
P Rahjon Anderson - The 31 year old was signed after the 2059 season in free agency and quickly became the stud of the Domestic League. Last year he won the Pale Ale, and this season he's now 4-1 with a 1.35 ERA and 287 ERA+. This past week against Hartford he turned in another masterful performance when he went 7.1 innings, allowed two hits, zero runs, walked one, and struck out 13 as Indy won 7-3.
Prospect of the Week
CF Ralph Neben - The 21 year old still has his AA uniform on, but he's now in Des Plaines, the Blues AAA team. He was the 4th overall pick of last years draft and so far in 34 games is hitting .301/.342/.527 with 7 HR and 21 RBI, all while posting a +3.9 ZR in center. The Blues have the worst record in the league, but Neben is giving the fans a lot to be hopeful for.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Another week, another milestone, as Charlie Spence reached 2500 strikeouts for his career. The 30 year old was the 56th player in the history of the league to do so, and is now up to 54th all-time. Considering he averages 329 K's a season, he could break the all-time record of 3,597 held by DJ Engstrom by the end of 2063. Did we mention he's only 30 years old? Originally drafted by Maine in 2047, he was traded to Philly in 2048, and then traded to Carolina two months later. Since then he's become the most prolific strikeout artist in league history, has been to five All-Star games, and won the 2056 Pale Ale.
2. Looking at the K record, Spence probably won't be breaking Engstrom's record, because it won't be his record. Blues starter Cade Hogan currently sits at 3,473 at 41 years old, while the Tobs other ace Martin Hoffman sits at 3,427 at the young age of 38. Hogan is on pace to finish with 3,521 by years end, while Hoffman is set to sit around 3,502. Both are slowing down considerably, but Hoffman more than likely has another year or two in him to break the record. Of course by that time Spence will be right behind him, and theoretically could hit the absurd number of 4,500 K's by careers end.
3. It looks like it's Cayden Wittmeyer's year to be the "Seattle Ace". Every single season for the last decade it seems one of the Seattle pitchers puts together a crazy season. This year it's Wittmeyer's turn as he's now 8-0 with a 1.57 ERA in nine starts. Last season it was Connor Cook who went 22-5 with a 1.67 ERA (Pale Ale). The year before it was Rahjon Anderson who went 15-6 with a 2.42 ERA. The year before that it was Wittmeyer who went 18-7 with a 2.17 ERA (Pale Ale). The year before that it was Anderson who went 18-5 with a 2.96 ERA. The year before that it was Norm Aouita who went 15-8 with a 1.85 ERA (Pale Ale). The year before that it was Paycen Bemis who went 18-2 with a 1.88 ERA (no Pale Ale!). The year before that it was Lukas Lorey, who was 5-7 with a 4.11 ERA in Baltimore, and gets traded to Seattle and goes 12-2 with a 2.24 ERA to finish the year. The year before that...okay you get the pitcher (literally).
4. The 'Awful Ale' seems to be no more as Hartford and Syracuse are both 30-16, and Pawtucket is 24-21. Two seasons ago not a single team in the Ale had a winning record at seasons end, but it looks like things have changed. The Whalers even lost five straight to finish last week, and are still tied for the fourth most wins in the BLB. This season they are led by a pitching staff that is first in runs allowed in the Domestic, and fourth overall. Offensively they lack though as they are ninth in hits, tenth in home runs, and last in stolen bases. They are fifth in runs scored though, which is why they have a PYT of +3, tied for first overall. Maybe it's time to add a slugger or two! Syracuse meanwhile is first in hits, fourth in home runs, and first in runs scored. Meanwhile they are tenth in starters ERA, tenth in home runs allowed, and eighth in runs allowed. Maybe these two teams could combine to form a super Ale team?
5. What's on tap? How about Toronto at New Orleans in the Domestic, and Baltimore at Seattle in the Import. The Canadians currently trail the Voodoo by four games, and are trying to keep afloat amidst a rash of post Brew injuries. Meanwhile Baltimore has closed their gap with New York to just 2.5 games, while Seattle is trying to keep ahead of red hot Phoenix. Streak wise Ryan Carr (SEA) has an 18 game hitting streak, while Oscar Dudzik (NYC) has won 12 straight decisions going back to last season.
