This past week it was non other than the mighty Montreal Exports who smacked their interleague competition to the tune of a five wins in six games. Over those six games they outscored Batavia and Philly by a combined 20 runs. Meanwhile nine other teams went 4-2, while six teams went an even .500. On the other side of life Toronto, Philly, and Pittsburgh all went 1-5. It was a good run Millers fans!

Performance of the Week
C Jonathan Schuster - On his fourth team in as many years, Schuster might have finally found a home in Phoenix. This past week he turned in the fifth best hitting performance of the season when he hit two home runs, drove in four, and scored three times in an 8-2 victory over Maine. Wait what's this...Phoenix gave up eight runs in the bottom of the ninth, including the walk-off 3-run home run, and lost? Well it was a good game anyways for the 30 year old Schuster who is now hitting .281 with 6 HRs and 12 RBIs in just 15 games for the Roadrunners.
Prospect of the Week
CF Teddy Burch - Another rumored top pick is the 17 year old out of Carroll HS in Southlake, Texas. The two-time HS all-star started and played in all 120 games for the Dragons during the three seasons he was there. During that time he slashed .351/.420/.601 with 29 HRs and 103 RBIs. Scouts think that due to his bat and speed he has a chance to be an "elite big league center fielder."
Five Things We Think We Think
1.Brendan Linnett, the longtime Bull, hasn't started a game in the BLB since 2053. Well until last week that was. After being traded to California in April of 2054 he was released a month later. He then signed a MLC with Toronto where he appeared in 28 games as a reliever before heading to free agency. He got scooped up by Dallas in 2055 but was released in June last season and sat most of the season out. In August he signed with Denver and played in AAA to finish out the year. This season he started out in AAA again, but got the call up for a May 16th start against Toronto. How did he fare? How about 8.2 innings, 2 hits, 1 ER, and 11 K's for a 7-1 Bulls victory!
2. Burgess 'Nuke' Nalivkin recorded an amazing seven hits on May 15th against Denver. Too bad for him it was in 10 at bats over an 18 inning game, And in the end Toronto lost thanks to a Bulls walk-off single by Wes Chavis which brought home Duane Evans. It's still quite an achievement for 'Nuke', as it ties the BLB record for most hits in an extra-inning game. The other time it happened was in 2010 when Pawtucket outfielder Tony Cavazos had seven hits against Maine. The 31 year old Nalivkin is now hitting .318 with 6 HRs and 21 RBI's for the Canadians this season, and is looking to go to his first All-Star game.
3. As talked about last week the Pittsburgh Millers were living off their offense, and Devin Welninski was the main supplier. After hitting .462 on May 1st though, he's now currently hitting .400 after last weeks dismal .227 performance. During the week the Millers lost five straight, and were outscored by 10 runs, before finally get back on track and beating Windy City 14-0 to close out the week. In that game Welninski hit a single, two doubles, and a triple. It appears as he goes so do the Millers. Does he have enough in his tank to propel them back to the playoffs?
4. The Ale is something else this season as five of the six teams are .500 or better, with only Syracuse the odd team out. The Snappers are a surprising 16-22 after winning 95 games last season and taking the division crown. The preseason predictions have them winning almost 90 games, so we're not counting them out by a long shot. The top spot belongs to the Guides though who are 23-15. After winning 65 games in 2054, they won 86 last season, and on pace to average 85 or so wins this season. Meanwhile the Millers are 20-19, but have the highest playoff odd percentage in the Ale at 80.2%. So basically we have no idea what will happen.
5. What's on tap? This week we get Dallas at SDR (who's the biggest baddie in the Lager), Phoenix at Seattle/Batavia at Seattle (an early Christmas family reunion), and finally LAD at Washington (can the Dinos overcome the Bats 16-4 home record). Streak wise Montreal has won five straight, while Indy has won four straight.
